Zero Tolerance Current/Upcoming/Discontinued Models

Torn on this. Glad they ditched the stainless steel liner on the show side, really like the cf which ZT always does a great job on….just perplexing why they would use m390 which is basically 20cv which is used on the production version. Really wish they would have used magnacut like they did on the recent 0562 sprint. Blade finish is nice but the $420 price tag sorta stings.
Was looking at a picture on KC, and it looks like it still has a liner underneath the CF scale :-/
Which makes sense if they wanted to keep all the hardware the same, but it kinda bothers me aesthetically, having one side noticeably thicker than the other.

Well that sucks…..it would be nice if ZT did like Spyderco with their CQI program where they update/improve their knives. The 0562cf/0308 don’t need a liner on the show side. I would love it if the 0350, 0357 & especially the 0770cf ditched the speedsafe and went to the KVT bearing system. Heck I would have loved a 0566cf with a ti lock side and KVT bearings. Instead it got discontinued.

Was just looking at Skiff bearings for another knife, and I saw they finally offer aftermarket bearings for the 0452 and the 0562…and I would imagine all the others that run on the Blue KVT bearings (0801 and 0560 come to mind).
I ordered 3 sets to try them out, I am pretty stoked about this.

I like the Tilt I've got better but the page says that it's OOS.

Was it already released & sold out or is the release still pending? 🤔

The 50th Anniversary Kershaw Tilt hasn’t been released yet. You should sign up for notification where it says: “Notify me when this product is in stock”.

Nah. I was just curious. I don't like commemorative knives w/dates on them. I've got the original Tilt & really don't want/need another.

Any idea as to when it will be released?

The 40th Anniversary Kershaw Ruby went on sale November 13, 2014. If that time of the year has any relevance, the new Tilt might release in a similar time frame.

It’s possible the announcement came out at this time to generate buzz at Blade. If you want one, the best bet would be to sign up for notifications at the website.

Kershaw also did a 40th Anniversary Skyline in 2014, so there might be more anniversary knives coming.

How’s the action on the 0545?
Smooth so far... No blade play, detent is stiff but easy to overcome. I don't know how some can reverse flick this though... I have not been able...

The 452 had a very stiff detent... Annoyingly to the point I actually deburred the detent hole so the bearing would roll out smoother... It is perfect now...

Well, if I recall correctly, the very first Kershaw shipment went out November 14, 1974 so the timing makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for the input - it has been very helpful.

Do you happen to remember what time they went on sale? First thing in morning? Noon? Some random time?

Wondering whether Kershaw has a pattern when it comes to release times.

Cheers
A.

I hunted this guy on and off since being discontinued and finally stumbled upon one. The blade was a tad misused so I sent it off for a regrind. I was like a kid at Christmas when it arrived!! Killer action on it.
