The 0562ti pricing could always have something to do with Hinderer.

Honestly im kind of excited for this one. I always wanted ZT to do Ricks "working" finish on a blade. I almost had one custom done to a regular 0393.. i'm glad i waited

Consider the ZT 0562TI at $280 vs. Hinderer XM-18 3.5" with all titanium handle at $625.

It looks like ZT has gone for a higher bracket in pricing making most of its titanium frame locks with 20CV steel and titanium clip which now go for $188-$280 (low end is still S35VN and steel clip).

The steel frame lock 0566 series go for $176-$184.

The liner lock 0770CF goes for $192 and the liner lock 0350 series go for $156-$164.

Thats exactly why i returned my 3.5 xm and got 2 zt 0562's (the sprint 0562blk and a 562cf) now i have a beater and a going out to eat knife :) 2 knives in 20cv for the price for one hinderer i'd be scared to lose constantly

the 0562blk is my fav ZT knife ever.. put a 9mm shell casing as the lockbar stabilizer

If anyone's missing out on the 0393 (20CV/G-10) it's at a discontinued pricing of $199.95 at KnifeCenter. That's real good value considering its replacement in the catalog is the 0393GLCF (20CV/CF) which will sell for $280.00!
 
So it looks like to me that with the discontinuation of the regular 562, they are going the direction of more collab, jewelry laden knives. For everyday hard use I see the 350, 566, and the 562cf and ti. I would have a hard time beating on a 562cf or ti which is why I carry and beat on the 562 elmax. I was hoping for a regular production 392 but that never happened and suspect it never will.

ZT is the only knife brand I use and have used for awhile now and it is somewhat sad to see them go this way but hey, whatever pays the bills for them I guess.
 
Seriously some of their production models get phased out in less than 2 years quite frequently ... it is disturbing

Yeah i snatched up a 393 at kniveshipfree and i plan on getting it customized by fanatic edge

gonna do it all black handle and hardware and either acid stonewashed blade keeping the black flat where it says zt or just murdering it all out

I know what you mean. I was gonna buy a 0900 but it got discontinued last year and I missed the sales.....still looking for a NIB one to buy. I did buy a 0560bw from bladehq a few years ago when it was discontinued. I should have bought 2 because I’m reluctant to carry it.

Im seriously thinking about getting another 562 for a backup. I really cant talk myself out of it and Im trying.

I wouldn't call it "disturbing" in light of reality. ZT has a finite production capacity. What doesn't sell well gets discontinued to make room for newer models.

In order to stretch a production model they release Sprints of it. If a model sells well they introduce a production variation like 0562TI.

Of the three recently discontinued production models two got replacements although the "replacement" is quite a bit more expensive:

  • 0393 -> 0393GLCF
  • 0562 -> 0562TI

I like to think it is because many people (me included) have been thoroughly underwhelmed to put it lightly with their new models the past few years. Outside of initial/hype purchases the models, the knives don't withstand the test of time .

I feel the same way. I actually just got a 0350bw in the mail yesterday. I had an itch for a knife, didn’t want to drop the $280 on the 0562ti (I’m sure I will one day though) and the 0350 I’ve been carrying off and on with the black blade wasn’t doing it for me anymore. The last 2 years or so with the exception of the 0909 all the ZTs I’ve bought have been either new models of a discontinued one (0801ti) or sprint runs like the 0452ti, 0452wbw and the 0462blk & 0456cf which I think should have been the production models and not sprint runs.

And ZT, I’m still waiting for the 0566cfti with titanium and KVT bearings. Would probably be my favorite EDC....Heck, I’d even settle for a 0566ti with KVT....

Yep thats a winner right there for sure. I go between a 566 and a 562 depending on where I'm at for the day.
