Zero Tolerance Current/Upcoming/Discontinued Models

The 0562 is on clearance now. I’ve seen it as low as $150 which is a great deal imo if someone wants one before they are gone.

I got a 2nd 0920 on "discontinued" clearance for 175 I think it was. So much knife for the money.

As I look at what ZT has done with the 0452 and the 0562... The more I reflect on how ZT has discontinued those solid models and/or delved further and further into plastic, “now” fashion iterations of their classics, the more it seems to me they’re racing out of being a “now” knife manufacturer and into being a “back then” manufacturer. I think it’s pretty sad. Oh, well. I’ve got the classics in my collection, I use them and I’m not buying into the hot, stylish new GITD versions.

how is the new full TI 0562 anything but a beast

BladeHQ just got ZT 0303 back in stock. Not sure if ZT is doing a sprint run, or what exactly is going on. https://twitter.com/BladeHQ/status/1109847546741035011

Like in the past, it's a production run of ZT 0303 probably based on a distributor order. BladeHQ doesn't have a picture of the lock side so I can't tell if it's Gen 1 or Gen 2 with the latter having a steel lock bar insert. My guess is that it is a Gen 2.

KSF had 0301's for about 10 minutes a few weeks ago, I was thinking that was where that flipper in the sales forum got his NIB 0301 that he was selling for $395.00. I had no idea they would go back and make a disco knife for a distributor but I jumped on that one as soon as I got the e-mail.

Certainly got a beast of a price tag...it’s a pretty big knife but still nothing compared to the 0560.

Why they keep making more 0301s I will never understand, huge clunky assisted knife with a bad blade shape, never saw the appeal.

you are saying the 0560 is a better knife than the 0562? 20cv>elmax anyday ..also it was discontinued because it wasn't selling whereas the 0562 has had several versions...

PS if you are letting $20 determine your knife purchases then maybe switch to a diff pricepoint

I know this wasn’t aimed at me, but I wouldn’t discount the 0560. The milling was pretty badass, and for my personal practical uses I’ve been every bit as impressed with Elmax as I have with 20cv/M390. They’re both great steels.

Besides “Elmax” sounds cooler.

Yeah, the milling on the 560 was really what made it for me. My big gripe with so many Ti handles is they are so slippery, and the 560 did away with that problem. And I'll go one step further in regards to Elmax: I prefer it over 20CV any day. 20CV and its analogs have been pretty chippy in my experience, and Elmax seems to be significantly tougher, while still providing similar edge retention and corrosion resistance.

And yeah, ELMAX just sounds cool.

I personally think the 0560 series is a lot better than the 0562. In my opinion the 0560Bw is in the top 2 best knives ZT ever produced. Aslo, there we're multiple versions of the 0560 produced, 0560, 0561, 0560blk, 0560BW,come to mind immediately. It was one ZT best sellers for years.

I missed out on the 0560s - wasn’t really into ZT yet while those were out - wish I was!
I see some pop up for sale every now any then. Big knives. Were they all PB washers?

Ehh ... no, not even close.

I mentioned the 0560 as what I feel they should have kept reissuing instead of the 0301. Reading comprehension is a good skill to have.

The 0562 and 0560 share a common lineage but are very different knives, 0562 is a lot more refined.

At $280 now they are encroaching on Sebenza and Strider territory on pricing, that’s aggressive for a production knife made in the thousands.

That price is fine. Striders were always crude and overpriced (seriously, what was it with the fanboys around those knives?) for the money and CRK is still using S35VN and many other less advanced features for their price tag. I think ZT compares favorably with both.

I think the ZT 030X series is the best knife ZT ever produced, and I think many agree with me. The ZT 0301 series was the first time ZT brought back a discontinued knife temporarily, and it sold amazing. I hope the ZT 0303 sells well, so ZT continues this trend brings back the ZT 0302. I would like ZT to re-issue a ZT 0560BW, which I think is a superior knife to the 0562.
