Zt 0350

I'd sure like to see a comparison pic, of the 350 with the 200 then I could make a decision whether I needs one or not

Any pricing info or links to this yet?

It has been confirmed that knifeworks will be getting the exclusive bead blast version (like the ZT 0200). Not sure when it's suppose to be released, but as far as pricing it should be the same as the coated version, since the zt 0200 bead blast was same as coated.

Other than the comments on weight, has anyone NOT been happy with their ZT 0350 yet? Mine is great, but I am still curious.

Yes, I was not happy with it. Here are some reason's why:

-The handle is short, barley reaches the back of my hand.

-The blade is thin, about the same as the liners almost.

-The handle is held together by the same tiny screws as the pocket clip is held on with most knives (2-56).

-The weight is high for a knife with a 3" blade.

-The pivot is not very beefy, or really anything special to ZT.

All is all, this combination of features makes it much more like a run of the mill $60 kershaw than the robust Model 0300 it's supposed to be decended from.

In a 3" blade knife over 6oz I expect something much more solid in construction. My Strider SMF and Hinderer XM-18 are way, way more beefy knifes at the same 6oz. That's more what I expect for a 6oz+ knife. I realize there is a price difference but even at the approx $100 price level the 0350 inspires less confidence in it's construction than the paramilitary which has a thicker blade, stronger lock, and yet still weighs about 1/2 what the ZT does.

So that's why I sold my 0350. To me it's not the tough "tank" of a knife like the other ZT models. It would make a great addition to the regular Kershaw line up, but it's not built in the spirit of the other ZT knives. Of course these are just my opinions, and everyone else may feel differently...

Al, I couldn't agree more with everything above... Short, stubby, and heavy, with nothing seemingly more robust than knives that weigh half the 0350. The pivot screw was smaller than the Benchmade's I own.

Not being a hater, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I sold it and bought a Kershaw Spec-Bump for $20 less. The Spec Bump has a longer blade and handle, similar blade profile, and much nicer scales. I had always wanted a Spec Bump, just never bought one.

I did however think the ZT 0350 was a nice knife.

Just got mine today. Ordered April 10th from knifeworks.com and arrived today - which for cross border shipping is like lightning.

Feels nice and strong, I'm impressed with Kershaw so far. I don't have a 300 to compare it with, but I've got a JYDIICB and I love the scales on both.

They're great for me, but I'd think that's a bit of personal preference.

To me, the scales texture can't be beat, it's grippy in all circumstances.

It's a beefy knife, yes it is pretty flat, but still a beefy knife.

It's here. It is a wide one. At this point I like the feel. It is a bit short in the palm. But it's overall width helps with that. The blade Sort of glides out rather than a snap. It locks up real well. For the regular utilitarian task I do the thin blade will be great. It is by NO means ZT biggest or beefiest entry but I don't believe that it was supposed to be. The flat untextured G-10 is exactly what I wanted. I had sold off my 0200 because I felt it was overkill for me. This 0350 is pretty close to dead on to what I want. I photographed it next to my new OD-1 for a comparison.

I was telling myself I don't need one because I have a 200, but these pictures are making me want to pick up the bead-blast version when it gets out... :D

I scored a ZT 0350 this weekend at the Houston gunshow. Has anyone modded the scales yet? I was thinking of doing something like 0200 scales to it,though I don't reallly know how, thinking Dremel?

By the way, where are all the Kershaw peps hanging out these days?

My ZT 0350KW finally arrived today after almost 2 months of waiting. Here are a few pics of the satin bead blast Knifeworks version of the 0350.

This one is Serial Number 0005.

Dagnabbit PG, why did you have to put those pics up?

I had almost convinced myself that I could live without the satin blade. But after seeing yours, all fresh and new in its box and bubble wrap, here comes the credit card! And I guess my DLC blades need some company!

Very nice!

Happy to help out DV. :D This is my first ZT and it is definitely a stout little knife, very solidly built. I haven't gotten any DLC coated blades, yet, but I couldn't resist this satin version.
