I've been waiting but what happened to this?
ALL LIMITED EDITION ZERO TOLERANCE TO BE SOLD CONSUMER-DIRECT FROM THIS WEBSITE ONLY

Beginning later this year, this website will be the only place you can purchase Zero Tolerance Limited Edition knives.

We’re doing this to give you the opportunity to purchase these highly desirable knives in a single, convenient online location—without aftermarket price gouging, having to pay in advance for pre-orders, or searching multiple retailers to see who has the product in stock. Plus, since we will sell these Limited Edition knives only after we have completed our production run, you won’t have to wait for your knife either. Once you order it, it will be on its way to you.

HERE’S HOW IT WILL WORK:

We will preview Limited Edition knives on this website as we have always done.
Two weeks before the products will be available for purchase, we will begin making announcements on this website and in our social media to tell you exactly when the knives will go on sale.
Want to know even sooner? Sign up for our opt-in email list—you’ll be the first to know when the Limited Edition ZTs will be available for purchase.
HINT: You can sign up for our opt-in mailing list on any product page on this website.

You may purchase only one Limited Edition knife per household.
We will not accept pre-orders; purchasing begins on the day we announce and continues while supplies last. Full details to come when the announcement is made.
Limited Edition knives will be sold at full MSRP plus shipping.
Products cannot be shipped to PO Boxes.
Offer valid in the US and Canada only.
My understanding is that ZT was getting threatening/abusive foul language phone calls after the 0454 sale because some people weren't pleased with how they did the sale or they didn't get a 0454..

I can't say I blame them..who'd want to deal with all that?

Any word on how many of these are being released?

Idk...
But I think I remember reading somewhere that ZT will offer different versions of the 0392 in the future. I could be wrong though. I'd imagine production will be higher than the 0454 for the U.S. since it's a Hinderer based knife, but I could be completely wrong.

Great news! Now I can preorder one and then wait a year until they actually catch up. In the meantime, I'm sure I'll get my 0562cf.... Maybe...

Based on the pics and video review, I expect these are going to be awesome. Good luck to everyone trying to get one of these!

Where does it say anything about pre-orders? My understanding of the email is that the dealers will be announced on the 17th and they will sell them on the 18th. Do you know something the rest of us don't?

Someone needs to retake reading comprehension again.

The dealers will be announced on the 17th. THE DAY BEFORE THE SALE.

Hopefully the dealers will post the time they go on sale . I'm going to be at work and it's hard for me to get some time of during the morning .

Wow that's really sad. I had no idea, the Lady at ZT/CS is very nice.

I've dealt with two different ladies so far and both were top notch.

I definitely wasn't the one calling and cursing them out, but I did send a couple strongly worded but clean and non-threatening emails.

From what I have read, ZT can't win no matter what they do. People bitch and complain. They tried direct sales to make the process fairer and easier. Didn't work, so back to the alternate method.

Some people are just never happy and they are usually the ones who are the loudest ... unfortunately.

The email ends with "We hope you get the 0392 you want!". Am I reading too much into this or does that imply there will be more than one model? Perhaps just different Hinderer anodized screws, or an entirely different blade shape or finish? It's just a weird phrase if they didn't mean something like that. It might also explain the multiple dealers, each one getting their own exclusive maybe? But maybe I'm wrong. Hopefully it's just the one kind. If there's different ones and they're from different dealers, does that mean it's not one-per-customer anymore? Can people get multiple, or if I'm right, one of each kind? Just thinking out loud, I guess we'll all know Feb 17.

I believe this was the intent all along with the entire factory custom project. I would be a nice suprise if different dealers had different versions, people would lose their sh*t. From the comments being made and the subtle hints being dropped here and there by the company, I think there will either be a plethora of stock, or possibly different versions as you mentioned. I already have mine so I have no 'dog in the fight' but I hope there isn't a version that I like more released on the 18... :(

Poor execution doesn't mean the concept wasn't good. Plenty of custom knife makers etc. use online carts with huge demand and don't have the problems that ZT had trying to do the same thing. I've seen George knives sell out 50 samples in way under 30 seconds, no complaining, no insanity, no people having the cart tell them they have one then not able to finish the transaction etc. etc.

It could have worked, but ZT obviously didn't do a good job of setting up a shopping system that could handle high demand.

People that get the knives are never going to complain, and those that don't will. I'm sure those guys that are flippers, have ins with dealers, and dealers that want to sell on ebay are more than happy to see things go back to the way they were.

ZT learnt a BIG lesson from successive failures through Shopatron. Not blaming Shoptatron either.

Reagrdless, a failure is a failure for the underlying merchant. So, ZT is trying another venue. It had success with the ZT 0801S110V but that was an unannounced release.

Those true consumers who are not getting one will complain because they missed out on the window. I feel for them like I feel for me! As far as flippers are concerned I don't give a hoot.

I would much prefer unannounced releases in the future. It would give the public who actually want the knife a better chance at scoring one.

I just remember ZT was trying to be fair about the sale of their LE's. Gotta give them credit for that imho.

I think this refers to the sale of after-market modifications for the 0392 directly from Hinderer. Supposedly there will be lots of options to customize and personalize the 0392...for a price.

Can anyone tell me what retailers have handled LE ZT's in the past?
