How many emails did ZT send out saying "Hope you get the 0392 you want" knowing they made so few only a fraction of us would get one? Congrats if you got one, but yes this is more than a bit silly. I don't know the end game of the company, other than free advertising by all us complaining, but I prefer a company who can deliver the product they advertise.

they do deliver it, some people got them and others did not. You have to remember this is Hinderer hardware and zt scales/blade........ if you really think they could turn out 1000 plus of these then you have another thing coming. The deliver their regular productions as promised, this is clearly marked limited edition

got 1 from HQ..
Im done trying with GP..
12 times i put my card info in then bammmm

lol after reading all the literature im sure every bypassed.... im convinced if you order a second one your gonna get on a no ship list. I imagine all the order lists are going to zt to prevent flippers..... not saying you are one.

I get limited edition, but you miss my point, why send out 9000 emails and make xxx knives? To disappoint 90% of your customers? I don't care if Buggs Bunny made the hardware. Wait 2 months longer and make enough to sell to your customer base.

There's no such thing as bad press...

It applies to both ZT's free advertising here, AND the few dealers the 392 in stock... they got traffic from everyone trying to score one or more and there were one or two dealers I never even heard of before. customers can claim they're upset with how "x" site handled this, but the reality is there are 5 more people that just found another knife buying option.

People can complain all they want, and it would be awesome for everyone to get one- but neither ZT, RHK nor the dealers are losing out here... for that matter, RHK just ensured a few more quick Eklipse sales when people see the 0392 priced similarly second hand.

Sucks for the fans of the brand and knife that didn't get one... but I really do think there'll be another release or non-limited sooner than later.

I can guarantee you that's not what happens. I called them to ask about it, just in case I had more than one order go through the laggy mess this has been.

... but collaborations with a small batch maker like RH? I hear ya though... I'm just playing devils advocate, because there has to be SOME reason. I cant imagine a company would readily throw the chance for profit out of the window.

How many collabs has ZT done with Rick? Too many to count. I don't think it being a collab is an issue. I don't think THEY think it's throwing profit out the window. I'm sure they see it as building hype. I disagree. Some people like the saying "there is no such thing as bad publicity". BS.

It would be kinda fun if the dealer release was more of a pain in the butt for KAI than the direct release was. At least KAIs website could handle the traffic.

When you say e-mail conformation are you referring to a web reference number conformation? If you are that still does not mean you will get one. I called them and was told that even if you got a conformation does not mean that you got one. She also said that they would be calling people this afternoon that got one. Why a phone call I don't know, an e-mail would be work just fine.

All I know is I was finished checking out at 12:02pm. And received email shortly after. If I was a betting man, odds are in my favor.;)

Rick continues to sell his Eklipse model, you can wait for one of those if you truly like the design. Ultimately LE's aren't meant to be produced in production numbers. This same argument occurred last year with the 0454....then magically this year a production model appeared. ZT knows what they are doing and can accomplish. Let the sales and demand build up and determine if a full production is feasible. They already had to change the steel type due to lack of availability, so there may be a lot of different reasons they cannot mass produce....not to mention the fact that rick supplies all the hardware and even he cant keep up with demand for his own products. We shuld be happy that ZT has the balls to try something like this.....its nothing like a spyderco sprint run, those analogies are just BS. Plus their sprints are based on models that have been in production for years whereas this is a new model and process for ZT.

regarding emails sent....that's a newsletter bot, its unaware of supply and demand issues, anyone who signed up for the newsletter gets it regardless of their interest in the 0392.

I'll bet 90% of their customers have never been to their wedsite or heard of Blade Forums. Probably don't know what a 392 is for that matter. Also, just wondering what you consider enough is to cover the customer base? Maybe they should have made 10000 and called it an SLE(somewhat limited release).

who did you call?

Going Gear. They said that once the blades were in their hands, then Kai only told them to enforce their end of the deal, that no one household would be getting more than one knife from their website. They wouldn't be checking in and sending all their payment/user information back to ZT(which if you think about it, would be a legal mess anyway).

Nice which shipping did you choose I had no time to click faster shipping so I got default free shipping.

I too went with default free shipping to speed up the process. A lot of negativity here and I understand the disappointment. I'm feeling very fortunate though and even though I never had seen goinggear before, they seemed to handle the traffic load well. I wasn't able to get BladeHQ or Knifecenter to load at all and had no problems with goinggear.
