Do you see anyone talking this much about Spyderco sprint runs? For every person mad enough to walk off and never buy another ZT product, three more hear about it and get curious about the brand.
Doing these limited releases in ridiculously limited numbers has only increased their overall profits. The idea is not to make a profit off the limited sales themselves, but on the ZT name as something hard to get and something desirable.

I wonder how much business (independent of the 0392 fiasco) GPK stands to lose with their site being inaccessible. Could be a few hours at this rate!

Just received my Email conformation from knife Center. I originally posted GPKnives was where I scored it, got a little confused with all the site searching madness happening on my AirPad.Now I have two ZT's on the way to my home, a 0392 and a 0562 to keep my 0350 company. Oh well, lots of ZT happiness to be had here for sure!:thumbup:
When you say e-mail conformation are you referring to a web reference number conformation? If you are that still does not mean you will get one. I called them and was told that even if you got a conformation does not mean that you got one. She also said that they would be calling people this afternoon that got one. Why a phone call I don't know, an e-mail would be work just fine.

some people with fallout issues from the 454 sale were given early access to purchase a 392 early in compensation for the errors.

More likely just the fact they've been available in other countries already. They went on sale today in the US.
How many emails did ZT send out saying "Hope you get the 0392 you want" knowing they made so few only a fraction of us would get one? Congrats if you got one, but yes this is more than a bit silly. I don't know the end game of the company, other than free advertising by all us complaining, but I prefer a company who can deliver the product they advertise.

Same here. GPK is a great business. I doubt anyone will fault them for this really, but at the same time, having your website inaccessible for hours could mean a loss of business for sure (at least for today!).

There were also a handful sold in Europe early in February. AustonH got his from Europe, I got mine last week from being screwed on the 0454.
