Some people like the saying "there is no such thing as bad publicity". BS.
That saying is a convenient black and white stance to take on the subject- that has a lot of grey area... but in this case- I think it's valid.
Side note- I've read horror stories about certain brands and controversy regarding their materials and business practices... the fact is it does get people talking about their brand (even if for the wrong reasons) when they could have drifted off into obscurity if it wasn't for that. Do I think that they could be more successful with good press? Obviously. But talking bad about a brand is better than not talking about it at all. Could controversy also kill a brand? Of course... too much bad press- will eventually be a bad thing.
