ZT 0562CF M390 Blade cracked at jimping

Update:
Spoke with sales manager at ZT thanks to Whitty @www.usamadeblade.com! They are going to send me a new ZT0562CF CTS-204P. They do not make the 0562 with m390 any more. Thank you Blade Forums! and ZT knives for stepping up and fixing this for me I will definetly be buying more ZT's. I will send pictures when new blade arrives.

JP you starting this thread should become the model post about how to complain when something goes wrong. It definitely went wrong for you! You did not complain and curse ZT, you just stated the facts and admitted it sucked. You also gave the manufacturer a change to fix a mistake not just once but twice. No matter how hard any company tries, mistakes do happen. It really sucks when you fix a mistake with another mistake but it can happen too. You were patient, and any company should greatly appreciate that. I think regardless of my intervention the result would have ended the same, but luckily I knew it could get taken care of in a faster way with the right person involved. ZT is great to work with and I am stoked this was handled correctly inn the end and you will have a new knife coming to you very soon!

I'm glad this worked out for you jp22. I'm also glad I read through this thread today because I've been wanting a fiddleback production kephart, and hadn't decided who to order from. There is one less in stock at USAMadeBlade now. Nicely done Whitty.

Thank you for that:thumbup: It will ship out in the morning!

Props again to usamadeblade and Whitty for offering a helpful hand to make another knife loving consumer happy with her/his knife.

Extra care goes a long way.

Keeping your cool goes a long way and not kicking and screaming!!

Last Update: Received my new blade! ZT 0562CF CTS 204P. I want to thank Whitty www.usamadeblade.com again for getting the ball rolling. Also i want to thank ZT for making it right. Last but not least Blade forums for an awesome place to hang out.

Beautiful knife there  So OP you got a 0562 with Elmax and a 0562cf with cts-204p for the cracked 0562cf M390, am I correct? If so, kudos to KAI for taking care of business and congrats to OP for a satisfactory solution.

No I had a 0562cf m390 that had a crack. I sent it in on warranty and they fixed it but put in elmax steel blade and etched wrong info on blade.which is subpar to m390 or cts204p. So long story short I sent that one back and they sent me a new 0562cf cts204p.

gocha. Then it is what a responsible company SHOULD have done. Considering the M390 version is more sought/valuable than the 204p version plus the time/effort that you had to put in to get this corrected, it would be better that ZT gave you something extra, such as $50 ZT credits.

Sorry I just now am seeing this! Glad it worked it but sorry it was a big of a hassle!

Had an almost identical issue on my 0566 with Elmax, cracked right at the studs. ZT fixed it under warranty.

Just happened to my 0561. Sending out this weekend

I hate to hear that. It is the most vulnerable place for any knife to crack. I have seen it on knives from all manufacturers. While it is not common it is the most likely place. I am sure ZT will take care of you!
