Mine came in today, and it is a beauty!

Some initial impressions (having only had the knife in my possession for about an hour so far)... The CF scales feel great in hand. They're smooth, but still pretty grippy (more so than the aluminum scales). ZT added a little jimping to the flipper, so it is easier to catch with your finger and deploy. The jimping along the liner lock was removed, which doesn't appear to affect grip (when open) or when disengaging the lock. True to ZT's pedigree, the knife has a very solid feel to it. The CF scales themselves look fantastic, and it's semi-polished on the inside of the scales as well (probably not really polished, but smoothed out to where you can see the definition of the carbon fiber). The barrel spacers were swapped out with a solid backspacer, which looks more like the 0777. The oversized pivot also looks great, again, more resembling the 0777. Final thought... YOU NEED THIS KNIFE!

And now some pics (click for higher res):

On the 0770CF they removed the jimping from the lock bar and put some on the flipper. How do both areas feel like in comparison to the 0770?

Where from? I haven't seen them for sale anywhere . I've had a pre order in with blade hq since they where first announced

The jimping on the flipper makes a noticeable difference when deploying the blade. On the 0770, you had to be a little more deliberate to make sure you applied force on the flipper in the right way. On the 0770CF, the jimping does catch on your finger much easier, so it requires less precision to get the blade deployed. I really don't notice the change in the jimping on the lock bar when holding the knife or disengaging the lock.

I ordered mine directly from ZT. I had a voucher from them from an earlier support case that I had to spend. From the sounds of it, though, several dealers are starting to (or have already) shipped a number of them.

Please tell us how the texturing of the CF feels like compared to the 0777. :)

I don't know about the 0777, but poolhustler can chime in once he gets his. Appearance-wise, the 0770CF finish isn't unlike the 0560CBCF. The CBCF does have a bit more grip though due to the very fine machined texturing on the surface of the CF.

I ordered mine from Warriors and Wonders in Canada. Looks like they still have some left, better hurry. Mine was like $176.00 shipped to Ohio.

I have a pre order in with blade hq so I'm sure they'll be shipping them out soon. Thanks for the heads up

Nice! Thanks for posting!

C'mon pre-order..where are you??!! :D

I have a feeling this will end up being one of the few knives I have two exact copies of.

No - one to hold in each hand in a spinning mall-ninja tornado of death. :D

Or maybe you had it right the first time - for when I lose the user at the exact moment they've gone out of production.

These look awesome. I hope those who incessantly complained about the wait time are satisfied with the finished product. I am glad KAI takes their time to get things right before letting their knives hit the streets. Good things are worth waiting for.

Heard that. Not like we couldn't buy other knives in the meantime.

I had one on preorder from KC, cancelled it and still found one and bought it the first day, and before my preorder would have been procured.

Albeit luckily, only because someone else mentioned the other ZT that just came out, the purplish-brownish carbon fiber one, and was on a website in Canada.

It still happened, so THANK YOU whoever that was.

That backspacer was an excellent move by KAI the only thing that would make it better is if it were polished along with the body screws and why not the pocket clip too!
