BLADE should allow only knives that are available for purchase to receive awards, then there would be far less complaining. It's a little silly that a knife can win "Knife of the Year" and yet still not be available for purchase over a year and a half later. I think that's where a lot of the frustration comes into play. It probably would've been better if the knife hadn't won the award.

This 100 times over.

Or knife fans can aptly like adults and not get their panties in a twist over when a certain model is released.

Just a thought.

I agree with you as well. I think the smart move would have been to just hold of on releasing any info on the knife till it was very near its release date. This would have probably not caused knock-offs to be released before the knife was out on the market, and (hoping) it would have caused less issues with people upset that they don't have one at home yet. Do I personally want a 0777? Yes, I do. Is it worth me getting upset over? No.

Lynda, thank you for the pricing info.

I'm pretty sure that by FIFO you mean first in, first out but I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to by that. Do you mean they'll be shipped to distributors based on when they placed their orders?

Sorry for the confusion... yes FIFO is first-in-first-out. Basically means that the first orders placed with us get filled first.

Here are the retail prices of all of those and approximately how many will be made. The 0888 and 0888MAX are on the lottery (which will be taking place here very soon) and the others are going to be allocated by FIFO.

0888 $499, 250 pieces, lottery
0888MAX $499, 250 pieces, lottery
0600 $425, 1000 pieces, FIFO
0560CBCF $425, 1000 pieces, FIFO

Really looking forward to all of these. They are beauties. :)

And just so everyone knows long in advance - I do not know exactly when these are coming out. But I guarantee it won't be before 3rd quarter 2013.

Thank you for sharing that info. Im glad to see 1000 of the 0560CBCF. So I have until the end of summer to save up some $$$$$$... no problem :D

This would've worked out much better for them for sure. 2014!!!

And as far as I know, nobody has actually paid for one of these knives, and therefore no one is actually entitled to complain about the delivery date.

Even though no one has paid for the 0777. They still have to keep $470ish or whatever they are going for available.

It would be one thing if they havent opened up the preorders. But now that they have, they need to get it done. If there was a design or engineering problem I would understand, but just coming out saying they have lost interest is bs.

I must admit I've been away from the knife forums for a while while I've been getting more into firearms. But when i came back and heard the 0777 still isn't out yet. I couldn't believe it.

Microtech produced these things in a couple months from stolen design to in customers hands. I'm sure the ZT is a lot nicer, but get motivated and get it done.

How would it have worked put better for them, exactly?

Did you not read post #226?! Less info about the knife and over promising could very well have prevented all this complaining..not to mention the two knock offs that managed to beat'em to market. I'm sure a lot of us including me appreciate that they shared all the info they did, but the issue is they didn't follow through. So much hype, two years later still nothing to show for it.

And how much money do you think they've lost because of it?

So you're saying they need to lose money for them to act with a little more urgency? I think you're missing the point.

The point of a business is to make money, no?

So if they sell every 0777 they make (and they will), what's the difference for them between releasing it when it was first unveiled, tomorrow, or in a year?

maybe a few less angry fans?! but who cares about them..its all about the money. how about making it regular production and make even more money
