This is the official word on this:

We have been assembling 0777's all this week. I don't have details on when or where they will ship. I would have posted about this sooner, but I didn't want to whip people into a frenzy. We will continue to ramp up production on these, but it will still take some time to get them assembled. I will get some pics up soon though.

Thanks,

- Jim

Thanks Jim!!

I have been looking forward to this for some time, and having handled them a couple of times now, I am READY!!

This will be a great addition - I look forward to hearing from my favorite Kershaw/ZT Seller!

best

Okay so considering the limited warranty, I have a question...I know it won't be a fast wearing part but would the stainless steel inserts that sit against the actual blade lock face at least be available on a somewhat regular basis?

I am ready as well! I was lucky [depending on how you look at it], enough to place a pre order with our very own Kershawguy last year fall [I think placement 53 or 52 i forget]. But thats if he is able to get that many! Knock on wood :p However, whenever really anticipated items come out in limited amounts, I do feel bad for ZT/Spyderco, because I know there will be a lot of whining, as others have stated [as if we haven't done enough before it comes out right? lol]. Let the games/hunt begin, good luck all!

Edit: Just read my last statement, made it sound like its out already, its not yet, so please don't read into it as such :p Just wishing everyone luck on their future possible purchase

Awesome news to hear about the recent developments- thanks for heads up.

Didn't know that there would be so many, 1000. My fingers are crossed.

I appreciate the report - and your input, jimmer. Still, no 0777. I was told, face to face by a Kershaw employee at their booth at BLADE 2012, that they they would be shipping them "once they got back", assuming it meant from that show. I'll believe it when I see it... at a store (I fondled the Blade demo unit!). I will look one over carefully when and if my local vendor gets them. Knowing there are no spare parts for repairs is worrisome, although I have never needed anything for my other Kershaw/ZT knives, save an early Leek's clip screws, which I damaged removing. I just cannot understand the time involved, especially after the special BM 2012 Forum knife - proposed 1/2012 - delivered 6/2012. Barely a third as many - and for a fraction of the 0777's proposed cost. Admittedly, based on a current model - but with M4 & CF, etc. Mine is a keeper! I know BM didn't lose money making it, either. The drawn out nature of the 0777 has not added to it's allure as far as this ZT-lover is concerned... just added to the aggravation. Thanks for the input, of course.

I am so depressed I never got a pre-order in. I had always figured due to the price point it wouldn't practically be sold out through pre-ordered. :(

I really want one and there has not been an available pre-order spot for quite some time. *slits wrists with the 0777 he will not obtain*

You and me both. I have a friend who has a couple preordered, if I'm lucky ill be able to nab one that way.... Not counting on it though.

I'm actually optimistic about availability. The longer we wait, the more likely some will drop out of the running.

There are people that are that up set with KAI's lack of producing the 0777. Which in my opnion is just silly.

It is one thing when corporations deliberatly deceive and manipulate just to make more profit. I guess maybe that is what those angered about this knife think KAI is doing. Personally I don't see them as that knif of a corporation. I think they are set on producing the best product they can by taking every step to get it right. Sometimes a lot of time is consumed in this process.

I wonder what the price of the first one up on tha auction site will be. I have to assume that some of the pre-orders are intended to help make a profit. Full msrp? Double? I didn't do a pre order as I would not have been able to come up with the money if they had delivered quickly, which is not an issue.

Can Jim or anyone ‘in the know’ give up any updates or additional sightings however fleeting and/or cryptic? Its been 4 weeks or so ago that they were assembling so that has to be a good sign.... right?
