Just got off the phone with them and it was a bogus email, and i was told their sending new emails out as i was speaking to them.. i knew it was to good to be true!
I have not received an email from them except the robo email explaining rest assured that is in good hands.I am pretty sure I am near the top of the Pre-order list.I will not hold my breath that I will ever receive the 801CF from this dealer.I will most likely find the knife somewhere else as they have never fulfilled any of my pre-orders over the years.I have had excellent service from them for items that were in stock. They are good folks to deal with, but I won't put my hopes or eggs in one basket for LE pre-order knives or must-haves based on my past experiences.
Has anyone heard any updates regarding the 801cf?
Thanks for the reply.....If you have noticed that dealers have changed the way they taking pre-orders for knives and not taking orders so far in advance anymore. Some dealers no longer take pre-orders and or wait until the week of release or offer a very sort pre-order waiting period.I am not antsy and can wait or even decide I want another knife or just enjoy the ones already in my hands(LE ZT,Spyderco sprints, LE BM).I have been lucky enough to grab some amazing blades by being patient, but always ready to pull the trigger.I have not heard anything nor have I read anything lately regarding the 801CF and this LE has not been discussed a whole lot lately.I really enjoy the production 801 and it would not break by heart to pass on the 801CF when it releases. My pre-order has been in over 9 months ago with KC who has historically never delivered for me when pre-orders were placed in the past...No biggie on this model and if I get it, then I get it..If I don't I don't.. When this LE is released, there may or may not be pre-orders from dealers and this one may just drop.I know that when waiting for a product (especially special limited edition KAI releases) we tend to get antsy and want to ask if anyone has heard anything. But nearly 100% of the time if there was anything to report no asking would be needed. As usual I think the standard reply for such inquiries still applies which is they will be ready when they are ready. It sucks but it is what it is.
