The company has said that they have never had one sent back because it has been broke. These are hard to find. Anyone good any other suggestions for another knife built this strong? I wish ZT would do another run of these.

How'd it break?

I sent one back because the lock didn't work, but I'm guessing that doesn't count?

Anyway, I used to have one. I wanted one forever but once I finally got it I found out that the 0300 series is a much better knife. Ergonomics, cutting geometry, blade steel, construction, etc were all better on my 0303. Even after getting the one back from warranty service on the slipping liner lock, I still was left a very poor cutting tool. The only think I liked was that it was a manual action, but it wasn't a very good one, with a mushy detent. The 0300 series might be assisted but for the intent of the knife I honestly don't mind the assist function.

Benchmade Adamas, Spyderco Tuff, Strider SMF, Hinderer XM-24, are all knives I have personal experience with that I'd say are as overbuilt as the 0200, I do wish I would have grabbed a second one before they disappeared.

Well I was going to say that Kershawguy still had them in stock, just checked and they are gone. The ZT 301 is available there. Either that one or a BM Adamas would be my choice for beefy folders.

Benchmade 810 from what I've seen is one tough knife.

I have the contego, adamas and the 301, I like the 301 because of looks and its yuuuge, the contego fir the m4 and I am edcing the adamas as we speak. If I had to choose one to rely on, it would be the adamas, it's just as tankish as you can get(maybe the 4max)

No, I never did break mine. I just gave it to a friend who wanted it for hunting. Always wanted another one. I sent it off to washboard sharpening here on the forun and it sure wood cut then. I aslo like the 300 series.

The 0200 is a beast and if you check Ebay you can usually find one or two up for sale. IMO the 0909 is the toughest ZT you can still buy brand new and has a lot of similarities with the 0200.

Word of caution on the 909...the blade steel is crap. They must have messed it up somehow but I am not alone on this. Cedric YouTube video did a cut test on 2 different ones and came out with the same outcome. About 60 less cuts than s30v.

My ZT 0909 fails light spine taps just like the one in this video. It seems strong but mine is exactly like this one.

Hmm that’s weird about the video showing the locks failing. I’d guess it’s because ZT leaves room for the lock to wear, as they only lockup about 30% when new and are meant to last a lifetime.
Either way, I use the sharp side to cut, not the spine side so I don’t see why the hell it matters or what he is trying to prove. I’ve used many different ZTs at the factory I work at and they’ve all performed great.

Honestly, if you want a rugged knife, I don't think cold steel can be beat, let alone in the price range they compete in. A recon 1, SR1, or 4 max is going to be your best bet, provided you can live with the triad lock (though the larger triad models are less stiff, for some reason). Now, if you don't like those models, then there's need for different discission, but I don't honestly think most Hinderer/ZT/other overbuilt framelocks really stand up, and I own a ton of them.

Stand up to what?
