ZT 707 coming 6/16!

Looks awesome to me. Light, slicy, pointy. The detent system... lot to like there. Kind of makes me think of the 0452 as in it looks like it'll carry smaller than it is.

And that clip! Love the looks of it!

I really like this ZT 707 (except for the hole). But I want to help some others and clarify (This is NOT a Tunable Detent).
This is a Tuned detent that allows you to have pressure on the lock-bar with your fingers and still open with ease as the handle is not very tall. Also in there description they mention this.

Looking at the pic below, what they did was cutout a relief behind the detent so it will not contact the Carbon Fiber when you put pressure on the lock-bar with your fingers. This is a super cool idea and will be great on smaller knives.

I circled the area in yellow that has the relief cutout, this is how they tuned the detent so even if you have your fingers on the lock bar it will still open like you don’t. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this works in real life.

Can't say I'm interested in this at all. Also, I really wish they'd hire someone else to do their promotional videos; I feel as though there was maybe a few seconds worth of useful content in that Instagram video, and the rest was filler nonsense.

My initial impression was "I LIKE IT!" but the more I look at it the less I like it. I think I prefer the Bareknuckle.
 
Bottom line, just too big for me personally. Loved the 45w but at end of day I don’t like unwieldy big knives, But otherwise, very interesting. Can buy right now on ZT website. Add to cart still available. In case someone wants to jump in.
 
I'll probably get one. But I wish it had other show side options. Cf is overdone by Zt.

I think it’s a slick looking knife. I’m not sure if I’ll end up buying one; I’m not going to say I won’t, especially if the price is right.

I want to try one, but I saw it, thought "why would I choose this over my Bareknuckles? Especially my cf/M390?"

I'll still check it out, but I was hoping for a return of the 0777, or something similar. Oh well.

Interesting that the relief cutout kind of serves a purpose here. Wonder if ZT originally designed the 0308 with a tuned detent in mind, but scrapped the idea somewhere in the process. Certainly would explain the weird show side cutout on it.
 
It's interesting for the price. Reminds me a lot of the 0452. Will probably wait and see what the consensus is on the Tuned Detent System before I pull the trigger though.
 
Was the blade shape inspired by the Sebenza listing meme that made the rounds on Chris Reeve groups a few months ago?

I really wanted to like it... but that hole is horrible. I can't imagine how much dirt is gonna get in there. It really just makes me want to buy a 0462.
 
Yeah, that cutout by the pivot looks about as useful as the perforations in the 0223 blade. However, at 2.3 oz and a 3.5" blade shape like the Bareknuckle I'm not going to knock it until I try it. On paper this looks like the ZT version of the Bareknuckle, even if it isn't exactly what we had hoped.

Is that a clip design similar to the 0562? We don't see nearly enough attempts at that IMO.
 
I will perhaps pass as I already have a 0470, which falls into the same category of carry and use but I think is better. The tip of 0707 looks too pointy and fragile. The pivot hole contributes negatively to the looking. And I don't care about the tuned detent as it has become habitual for me to not put pressure on the lockbar of any framelocks.
