Zt 777 m390 bohler steel

I can't recommend disassembling your knife and anodizing it - if you have a problem, the warranty department may not be able to help you.
I wouldn't suggest it either just so you have the backing of Kai's warranty
- I would be more worried about ZT's warranty if the ZT0777 wasn't a limited piece. If something catastrophic happens, I have a feeling that there won't be many parts available to fix it. I'll probably use it for a few months to see if there are any issues. After that, I understand that the warranty most likely would be null and void with any modifications.

On a related note, I've converted Emerson knives right away to framelocks and have never had a mechanical issue.

I hadn't heard that, maybe Jimmer or KAI can chime in?

Not a challenge but Jimmer mentioned that doing 3D contours on the CF handles chews up the bits and it's time-consuming and that's why they decided not to have 3D contours on the 0770CF like the aluminum 0770 has.

Found Jimmer's quote about CF effect on bits: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...thread!-(KAI-related)?p=12279171#post12279171

On the bright side, we get the sexy 3D contours on the aluminum 0770.

Well we could have done it, but the knife would have been much more expensive. That was not the goal of the project.

Fully understand. The carbon fiber you guys use looks/feels to be high quality so I'm sure machining is costly. I'm happy with the switch to CF over aluminum on the 0770 in general. Don't know what it is but I don't care for aluminum scales.

Yes, I will be shipping them out shortly.
We ended up getting a few more than what was projected.
So the total manufactured number has changed.

Can't wait to get the shipping notification.

So, more will go up for sale on your website?

On Friday, Jimmer_5 of KAI posted a picture of a 0777-M390BLK with Serial# 232.

I saw one of these on the table at work today....
