Zt 777 m390 bohler steel

Can a ZT0777 owner chime in on how the titanium subframe is held to the carbon fiber?

Under the pocket clip there are 3 screws that go through the carbon fiber and thread into the bottom of the subframe.

Got a little worried earlier this evening. The lock up suddenly got very deep on my 0777-M390. I thought that the lock insert had moved causing the change initially but after checking the knife over I found that the pivot had loosend slightly. Snugged up as best I could until I get home and everything returned to normal. Amazing tolerances that such a slight change in pivot tension dramatically altered the lock up.

How do you adjust the lockup? Do you have to take the lockbar off, loosen the screws attached to the insert, move the insert up, or down, then re-attach? Or can you do it while it's still on the knife.

I believe all you need to do is to tighten the visible screws on the lock bar insert in order to compensate for wear on the steel insert.

- I'm not sure if the pivot head is titanium.

Since I'm getting the DLC version, I'm leaning towards blue/purple since I'm using a propane torch.

The pivot is made of steel. The pocket clip, backspacer, and lockbar are titanium. The lockbar insert is steel. There is also a set screw in the lockbar that is steel.

I can't recommend disassembling your knife and anodizing it - if you have a problem, the warranty department may not be able to help you.

Congratulations Manny - nice pictures too.

Thanks Andy!

You sure you didn't live in the south for awhile??

I wouldn't suggest it either just so you have the backing of Kai's warranty

Anymore production of the 0777 is probably not going to happen seeing as this was a nightmare project for them. Maybe a damascus and blackwash 0770 would be more likely?

I missed out on the original but I'm making up for it with the M390 version. This is the first of a few 0777 M390s coming to my door. And this one is a low serial number, too (<100). Here she is sitting next to the 0600 safe queen, and the 561 EDC.
