Zt0392

They had a system glitch and had to tell a handful of people they wouldn't be able to get a knife. Sucked for them and their customers...they have amazing customer service and were upset the shopping experience had an issue.

Wow.....they should have honored the purchases, that would have been great customer service!

Right, I heard about that and I thought they handled it well, with offering priority on the 0392/Ruby. Blues Bender said they were "very unhappy", though. I had viewed it as more little hiccups getting the system shaken out, not as something they were that upset about.

Yeah I don't think it's a big deal. No reasonable person would have expected that.

I think the internet whiners, cart hoarding clowns, and people who tried to circumvent the system by having friends and family buy duplicates was probably more annoying.

The guy who bragged about cheating the system on social media, then whining about losing his orders...hilarious. Some people..,

With a knife that doesn't exist?? How does that make any sense at all??

Don't you think that if they had any inventory left, they would have fulfilled more orders??

I wrote about this before, but I was talking with the Kershaw guys and Rick Hinderer at G6. He was telling them how he deals with the heavy online traffic in the flash sales he does and how they can make the process smoother from a tech standpoint. He said he's seen 6000 people in the checkout cart at the same time and Kershaw was expecting the same, so a guaranteed spot is a huge deal if you want a 0392.

The upcoming Ruby & ZT 0392 all reserved?
How many will be left for online sales ?

Not sure how you got that from his post? After they gave a few spots away to those who missed out im sure there will still be quite a few left.

It was the way that people reacted to those "hiccups" that was more of the problem.

I was just reading on ZT's site. The blade steel is no longer listed as m390. It's now listed as cts-204p. Interesting. I like cts-204p better than m390. While they are almost the same steel I've had better luck sharpening the carpenter steel (thought admitidly I have only used 204p from spyderco). I wonder if they did this cause they got a better price or if it is in an effort to make the knife 100% USA made. Either way I just thought it was a fun thought

Thanks for the info, twitch. This is the first I've heard of the steel change.
