ZT0606, who's on board?

Contacted my source at ZT and they will not reissue corrected certificates at this time. I don't know how i feel about that.

yea originally they asked for my address and said a corrected one would be on the way, and then a few days later i get a email saying they will not be fixing it.

it may not be a big deal but when i spend that much on a knife i dont think its asking too much to get a piece of paper. at first i want too upset about it but after several emails with ZT i am disappointed in them, which sucks because they are my favorite knife company. I just didnt like the way they talked to me in my email correspondence with them. The way they talked to me about it was just rude

I received my 0606CF and it's definitely worth $500! You wouldn't know that unless you handled one.

That 3D milled CF backspacer is truly amazing. Love the middle titanium milling.

Beefy blade, centered and sharp.

There's a lot of detail throughout. Love the sedate jimping throughout.

The color combination and flipper action is not to my liking. So, I'm hoping for less ostentatious models with stronger detents down the road.

The innovative pivot is catching but without a tool is not user serviceable and the advantages can only be surmised over time.

Similar to my 0600 & 0600BLK which were about $100 less but going back 3 years ago.

I totally agree with you. It might not be more than a piece of paper but non the less they should correct this issue.

.

I liked the looks but when i actually got it in hand i was in love. the detent on mine is perfect, however i do like mine on the light side. So its tough to say if the two detents are different between mine and yours or if they are the same but with different personal preferences.

I just cant get over how nice this knife is. The quality and workmanship this know has is truly amazing

Not having a tool for the pivot really bugged me, i was going to make a tool but i found that two pairs of snap ring pliers work perfect I still might make a tool, now that i have the locktite off i think making a tool will be pretty easy now that i dont have to worry about breaking the lock tight. i think im just going to use a piece of wood or plastic with 6 metal pins. just need to find a good steel of the right size. I would really prefer if it had a regular torx or any non-propitiatory pivot. they could have made the inside of the hole hexagonal so an allen wrench would fit

The detent in mine is similar to my old 0600 & 0600BLK. However, it's on the medium-light side compared to my more recent ZTs which have been medium-strong. You can easily misfire with the 0606CF. It's not a bad detent since it does not open accidentally. Of course, the blade weight has something to do with the deployment.

Absolutely, I think ZT hurt the 0392 values horribly. I have the first two 0392s unused at home and they're probably worth a little less than I paid for them new. If this is just the first of many color combinations for the 0606, it'll hurt the value immensely. The key is how many pivots were made. I'd heard rumor that it was somewhere around 500, which would indicate that this is a stand-alone model. 500 pivots would lead to 400 or so retail knives made, which seems to fit the serial number patterns I've seen on the auction site and here. That's all just internet rumor-mongering though.

I don't think ZT hurt the 0392 values at all. The secondary market made the mistake of overvaluing the first runs.

These were meant to be "factory custom" knives that would reappear in different variations. Never take marketing at face value. It falls on the collector to decide if the knife is for them or not.

Now I still think the first run (blue hardware) is the best looking of them. I missed out on that one and refuse to entertain what flippers are asking, though prices are gradually becoming more reasonable. But I'm happy with my original Hinderer for now.

LEs that don't sell out aren't really LEs. Just saying. The market was saturated with too many flavors of 0392. That's on ZT, not the collectors.

If you have an edition of a product and you know how many you are going to make, that is literally the definition of 'limited edition'. What makes it not limited is if it's an open ended production.

Company X makes widget Y but only sells 100 of them over 10 years before discontinuing it.

Company A makes widget B and schedules 100,000 pieces for a production run.

Widget Y is a production piece and B is a limited edition. Doesn't matter how many the sell.

Still loving it
