ZT0801; A quiet success?

Yea see I love the 454 but I'm not sure if you have to pre order or you will be able to just buy one when they are in stock. Same thing with the 0801CF version. I see some 0888's were sold but it does not look like it's going to be a stocked item by ZT. All 3 were awesome at blade when I saw them.

They are both L.E. so if you aren't already signed up I doubt you'll find one other than the occasional store that didn't take pre-orders and just puts them up when they get them "luck of the draw". If not you'll have to keep an eye out on the exchange.

Read all the posts.

Must admit in my limited experiance, blade steels are interesting conversation but not the end all be all of a good knife.

I have the ZT801, 1st ZT i've owned. Like the shape of the scales and blade better than the other ZT offerings.

Since getting a ZT 561 (although a nice knife) I like the 801 even better.

Flipper mechanism has been pretty tight but its loosening over time and I think it will be OK.

So count me as a FanBoy. Great knife.

Any known pictures? I just registered at USN but cannot access a link I found pointing to them.

Go to USN "forums".....
Then to the "Steel Dust Junkies Area" ....
Then to "Pimp My Knife" (Hang out for Pimper).....
Then look for the thread called "ZT/Rexford 0801 clip-mod"............and you are there. :D

Thanks Keyman. Not too bad. It's a little fat and long though. I want a deep carry clip, just not the stock one. I wish I could have one of the prototype clips. The fold over is too tight and the screws prevent the knife from going all the way in my jeans pocket.

I have some of the USA knife maker blanks, I don't think they are wide enough for the hole pattern though.

I bought this knife about a month ago and its been my only EDC since. I admit I was hesitant hearing the steel rumors and I did see rolls and initial damage from light use but one sharpening session and that was a thing of the past ;) I love this knife
