ZT0909 Not much talk!

I want one. I like how it seems to be a replacement for the 200. I just can't swing it right now. Trying to downsize not gain more! Maybe after they have been out a while I will find one on the secondary market.

I handled the 909 at a local Army/Navy store. It was simply way too big and overbuilt for my daily cutting tasks, so I picked up the 0450cf instead. However, the 909 is big and overbuilt, so anyone needing that in a knife, I imagine the 909 is sure to please.

i love mine. it's a great design. i like bigger thicker liner/liner lock knives in general, so i am biased.

Have one and like it. The detention on mine is very tough to overcome -even after a breakin period.

I have one, and I love it too! Yes, it is big and heavy, but it flips like a charm, and it is good for work around the house. I think it gets less attention because it is a liner lock, and not a titanium framelock. I don't care, it's a great knife.

Speaking of titanium framelocks, I don't think the 0220 is getting the attention it deserves either. It is an ounce lighter than the 0909, but it is no lightweight, but I love it's back to basics finish and flat ground blade.

I did a search before starting this and was noticing there has been very little talk about the ZT0909. Was pretty surprised as it is a beast of a knife made from a company known for making tank like knives.

So who has one, Who wants one, and what do you guys think?

If you want to send me one, I will talk about it! :D
This year I made the no buying knives agreement (one of the hardest agreements I'll ever struggle through), so I won't be buying one this year.

Yep, it is a tough one.

I have some drillium in mind for mine in the future.

I put a MXG shallow clip on mine, not quite enough volume between scales and clip. (imo)

Still looking for nirvana...

It's one of those knives I didn't think that I needed. I handled it and liked it, but bought a 350 (still a great knife). But the 909 siren song kept singing.

I tried to appease it by buying a Launch 2. Another great "gentleman's knife".

Still, the 909, she called.

I caved. And honestly, I can't stand to not have it in my pocket. It's big, heavy, overbuilt, etc. But I love it.

I love the 0909; so much so, that I ended up with 2 of them. The one I've been edc'ing is obviously on the bottom, with the pocket lint, dirt, etc. stuck to the G-10. :D:thumbup:

My ZT0300 is my edc but I have been looking at the ZT0909, how do they compare in size?

They are the same in overall length when open. The 909 is slightly smaller, not as wide and just slightly less thick. I will try to get some pics of the 2 for you later tonight!

Pics would be great. I have a 300 that sees EDC. A size comparison would be awesome.

The 0909 seems to carry much lighter than the 0300 even through it is only 1 oz lighter. The handle and blade are slightly longer and slimmer so the weight is better distributed throughout the knife making it easier to carry as an EDC. I also prefer the 0909 sweet flipping action versus the assisted 0300 series.

It is a 10 in my book.

The 909 almost seems like it is a next generation 200. Flipper, liner lock, overbuilt, surprising heft... It fits everything but got rid of the awful recurve. Some people like it, but I bloody well hate anything with a recurve.
