I had statistics and statistics for marketing. This is discussion is close to dead center for a statistics for marketing class.
Right. Statistics as a mathematical discipline does not care about the question being asked. Now, statistics taught within another academic discipline does, to a certain degree, depending on the discipline. But really, when designing a survey to get at a specific question and extracting the desired meaning, statistical mathematics are after the fact.

Though slightly flawed, your poll does show that most people don't care about gimmicky extras, except some on high end knives. That is about what I would expect given the attitudes of the membership here.

….or, it shows that a 60% majority does care, under the right circumstance.

I kinda like the pouches.

I always thought it would be kinda neat for slipjoints to have a small pocketable pouch.

I also think a fixed blade that comes with a leather sheath would benefit having a pounce to store the knife in.
