Right. Statistics as a mathematical discipline does not care about the question being asked. Now, statistics taught within another academic discipline does, to a certain degree, depending on the discipline. But really, when designing a survey to get at a specific question and extracting the desired meaning, statistical mathematics are after the fact.I had statistics and statistics for marketing. This is discussion is close to dead center for a statistics for marketing class.
Though slightly flawed, your poll does show that most people don't care about gimmicky extras, except some on high end knives. That is about what I would expect given the attitudes of the membership here.
