Sam and I have chatted, and we are working through the details and will be announced as soon as possible.

When we come up with a discount plan, all Bladeforum members will eligible to participate, and the details of the discount and how to claim it, will be made available. :)

Note that it will be volume based - we will need a minimum number of pre-orders (likely 50), before any discounts are considered. The plan is to retroactively apply the discount (credit to your payment method), once the minimum number of pre-orders have been met. Meaning you pay full price initially, and hope enough of us place orders to qualify for the retroactive discount (again, tentatively a minimum of 50 pre-orders, and tentatively a higher discount if we reach 100).

We will have the details ironed out in the next couple of days, but as mentioned, any discount program will retroactively apply to any forum member joined before today's date. For those that have already placed their pre-order, I would suggest you post in this thread or contact Sam directly via his website, indicating your order number and Bladeforums username, so Sam has some way of knowing you are a Bladeforums member, and eligible for any retroactive discounts as we move ahead with this (and assuming we meet the minimum number of pre-orders).

How about an uncoated version? It's stainless after all and will reduce cost. Personally don't care for coated blades at all. Some knives I've bought grudgingly  despite the coating because there was no other option.
 
I like it, but it's not in the cards at the moment. What I could do is a media blasted version without coating, which is certainly a possibility if requested.

Sam Wilson Sam Wilson Sam will advise regarding cancelling.

All pre-orders must be placed before Jan. 31 2023 in order to qualify for any potential reimbursements.
 
It's completely waterproof. And by that, I test them by dropping them into a five gallon bucket of water for 30 minutes. The handle is completely dry.

I haven't tested them overnight in water for years, but my other knives all passed that test easily, and they are built the same basic way.
