0780 .... It came!

Thomas W, why is the 0780 discontinued? I still was not able to get on in Europe.
 
I finally had to take it apart and clean/lube it with some Lucas Assembly Lube (it's an obsession - I'm in a 12-step program to try and work on it). I didn't even realize when getting it that it had a blind stop-pin - I love it even more now.

I probably only flipped it <1000 times so I didn't expect much in the way of smoothing up, but upon taking it apart and cleaning it, it both centered the blade up and is now like butter.

I've already used this knife more than I ever used some of the larger ZTs, so it's right in the wheel-house of folks who carry smaller Kershaws and Spydercos (in my opinion). I'd love to see more like it.

Got home from work and mine was waiting on my doorstep. Took it out, switched the pocket clip to tip-up carry. Pretty damn light for a ZT, about the same size as a PM2. Not sure if I should carry it or not, being that they're discontinued. Pictures later.

Well I'm still waiting for mine...company I ordered from messed up and sent a 0750 instead. But I got to keep that one (bought it at a discount) and they're shipping the 0780 ASAP.
 
Mine hasn't left my pocket since I got it. I can't believe how much blade this is in such a small package.
 
I just ordered my first ZT! Can't wait for the 0780!
I really wasn't planning on buying this knife now, but when I heard that the 0780 was being discontinued I just had to buy one.

Any word on final production numbers yet?

Got one the other day. Very solid, nice size. The sound it makes when flipped open reminds me of a Tilt.

Update: I just called to check the status of my order for a ZT0780, and I was told by the Oso Grande Knife and Tool CS rep that these are on extended backorder from KAI, but they were going to do another run; when I told him what I had heard on here from Thomas W., he quickly cancelled my back-order. I guess I have found another website to add to the long list of sites that you need to call to confirm stock on something that you REALLY want to get... Hope this rant isn't against forum rules; sorry if it is, just wanted to warn others.
