..................................

You think 3 hours is ample time do you?
Change the name of the thread! You have not even heard back from the other member and you labeling them with that?
Anyways I would say you should have messaged the individual before you posted the video, and identified him by user name.
Pretty obvious this is negative feedback prior to getting it resolved.
.

Thanks for having my back, guys.

i have and they have responded.. they claimed it had been scratched during shipping even though it was completely padded up

You might want to reread what I said. I'll quote it for you. "It looks like it bumped on something during the trip, or while I had it here. I didn't notice the scratches. If you're not happy with it, send it back and I'll send your's back. The trade isn't complete until we're both happy."

Note the "Or while I had it here". Then I told you we could reverse the trade, but you didn't mention that part for some reason.

I guess I'm gonna start all over now and keep my age a secret because people are bias against younger people and all that jazz.

isaac,

You should probably post here that you have agreed to Lone_Wolfe's offer and that you two are working this out. It is the fair thing to do, plus you two working this out will look much better for you. It does not look good for you to delete everything after you just called L_W out. This will help with your long-term membership here, particularly if you plan to do more trades or sales/purchases.

I'm still waiting for him to respond to my offer to refund the cost of postage to send my knife back.

This is why my exchange threads end with "18+ only".
;)

OP: I'd stay out of the exchange for a while until you have a firm grasp of the way things work around here.

Lesson learned. I've traded with a couple younger guys around here before, and it went well. I thought I'd give someone even younger a chance, and it bit me.

That isn't it at all.

We are responding to your childish behavior, not your calendar years.

Don't worry, there are people here 3-4 times your age that haven't figured-out what it means to be fair.

You really should contact L_W and respond. See my second sentence.

This isn't an honest route to be taking. It's not fair to other members to not know they're dealing with a thirteen year old for various reasons including legal.

ok i made a bigggg mistake posting this thread.... moderators please close it

Yes, you did. I've made mistakes before, I'm sure I'll make them again. If the other party isn't happy, the first message back from me includes "Do you want to reverse the trade?" I've also been on the other end, the one who wanted to reverse the trade. I've always been able to contact the other person privately and work it out. I've never had to slam someone publicly like you did me.

But my point is that I'm still starting over and creating a new account

That's dishonest as well. We all make mistakes. Own them and move on. Trying to hide them shows a lack of character development.

Well now everyone will not want to trade with me and I will still want to get new knives ..

If you do, I'll promise you that I will find it and ban it immediately. Again, read the forum rules for Pete's sake. Take some responsibility for your actions, rather than hiding the crap under the rug.

Trying to hide mistakes via creating a new Bladeforums account is indicative of... future difficulties.

Then "man-up". What part of this don't you understand?

The more you ignore Lone_Wolfe and hide, the more you look bad to everyone here on the forum.

You think anyone will want to deal with someone who runs and hides when he doesn't get things his way? We'd rather deal with someone that stands up and tries to work things out with the person that he insulted.

Well now everyone will not want to trade with me and I will still want to get new knives ..

That is for you to own up to and deal with. Man up and live with your mistake. Recovering from a mistake and taking responsibility for your actions is a great way to start again.

Dang. It seems that a lot of us feel the same. :D You guys beat me to it.

Not necessarily. People make mistakes, learn from them, and improve themselves. This could be a learning experience for you, and what you do now will make a real difference in how other people feel about you.

Protourist, you were posting at the same time I was.

That's a big step in the right direction there. Apology accepted. Now do you want to reverse the trade or not? Your call. If you do, box mine up and send it back, and expect the cost of postage to be included in the box with yours.

I've never had a problem in the exchange, it just seems like you need to think before you speak/post, and give time for the other person to make it right. DON'T ASSUME ANYTHING
I'm 15 BTW.

Well now everyone will not want to trade with me and I will still want to get new knives ..

I'm really not trying to be mean here, so try not to take it that way.

A lot of people have no interest in doing deals with a kid, especially one who would rather hide a silly mistake than own up to it. It's unfair to the other party to risk getting into a financial or legal dispute with your family after finding out they were dealing with a thirteen year old. It's not all about you getting new toys. A huge part of growing up is learning that you aren't the center of the universe and can't have everything you want at the expense of others.

My advice is to calm down and take it as a lesson learned.
