117 CLUB Permanent thread keep adding

I’ve been around the forum for a while but only recently started posting...my 117 is my favorite Buck fixed blade. I have a 119 and a 212 as well but my 117 is my go to fixed blade. I love the 119 for sure but it seems too big for most of the cutting chores. The 212 is relatively new for me but it’s growing on me. All three knives have the standard black phenolic/aluminum handles, my preference.

Lol...I just noticed my join date...I knew it had been a while but I didn’t think it had been 14 years!

Wow! 14 years? One post? Wow! I’m honored to give you your first “Like”. Welcome to the 117 club.

I was wondering who would claim the coveted seventeenth membership to this exclusive club.

LoL! I'm honored to take #17. I'll treat it well...:p

I think I originally joined to get some information on my 119 and was able to find it without having to post anything. I forgot I had set up an account and a few weeks ago I was trying to find out some information on a used 112 I was thinking of buying, which I did, and when I put my information in to set up an account, it said there was already someone with the email I put in. Light dawned on marble head as they say, had a password email sent to my email address and voila, here I am. I tend to use forums I belong to as storehouses of information...and there is plenty here, for sure.

I've had Bucks since I was ten when my dad gave me a 110 for my tenth birthday in 1966. I'm sad to say I lost that knife backpacking in the San Jacinto Mountains in SoCal when I was in the Navy in the mid 70's. The next day I went to the base exchange and replaced the 110 and saw a 119 and bought that too. In the intervening years, I bought another 119, two 112s, my 117 and a 212. I think I might have another one or two Bucks kicking around somewhere. It's almost like grandkids...I keep losing track of them (I have 11 grandkids)...

Welcome Timmus.
Hang around. Tomorrow we have free beer.:D
....... the canucks put ice cubes in it....... I guess they prefer everything with ice.

Ps. Does anyone know what is going on at Postimages.org? My previously posted pictures are all showing up on the forum but I cannot log onto the website to link anymore or to add anymore? OH

Yep, two of my favorite Buck knives the 117 & 212, both suffer from badfactorysheathitis. But custom sheaths are available.

A different view of my only Buck 117, at the hunting club right after I bought it - a rare snow for us. OH

I like the flatness of the handle. Given a choice I’ll take flat over round.

Buck should make more stacked leather handles.
