Thanks for all the support regarding my father. It's at the end of a long illness (alzheimer's) so there's a little relief that he won't be suffering anymore.

WHen I designed this I envisioned the upper pivoting tracking arm being Aluminum. Now that it is steel we need to ensure the spring will be strong enough to counter a heavier pivoting arm. If its not we just might need to elongate it by an inch or so.

I have what I hope is the final revision cut(well, one kit anyway). I just need time to work on it(maybe tomorrow or Thursday).
The ratio of that arm is pretty similar to my current grinder, so I think it'll be ok. But I see what you mean. I'll try it out and keep everybody updated.
Chris and Jamie, I'm watching this thread with great interest. I already have a KMG and a Grizzly, but I could always stand to have another. Thank you both for the foot work you've done. If the timing works out, I'll be ordering a kit to use with my existing KMG arms and maybe to add the rotating platen.
Have you thought of doing/offering the rotating platen separately? I guess it will be spec'd out in your plans, but maybe some folks would like buying just that instead of the whole kit?
