I had a chance to work on this a bit more, and other than a slight modification to the platens, I think it's ready to go. There was a concern with spring tension. I have two springs on it right now (it's what I had handy) and there's no problem keeping tension. I wouldn't set them up like I have them, it's just a quick mockup.
Here's a picture of what's included in the kit.
(Shims not pictured, but are included)
And choice of platen.
A couple overall images of the grinder when assembled.
It includes a tool rest option. The top opening is the tool bar, and a work rest can be fitted into the bottom. A 1" square bar works nicely.
I'll be putting together a step by step assembly page here shortly. I'll include a tool list with that, too.
Other pieces needed to finish the grinder are bolts, nuts, wheels, springs, tooling arm, and motor.
Overall, there are 4 holes that need tapping and 7 holes that need drilling and tapping.
My original plan was to cut them this week and be able to ship them. I think that I'll be able to cut them, but I don't think I can ship this week. My father passed away last Thursday, and his funeral is at the end of this week. Once I get back home from that, I'll start sending emails to people on the list and get these sent out.
I'll also get a 72" belt from a friend, and show what it looks like setup with it. I run 90" belts, so the perspective is a bit weird.
The total cost will be $260.20, $250 for the kit and $10.20 shipping via priority mail.
