2007 Forum Knife Pattern Vote

I haven't even SEEN my 2006 knife! :) (I'll probably have time to go and get it tomorrow). But I'm in for the 2007; again for two of them.

UPDATE VOTE CHANGE - - I would like to change my number one choice to canittler.

First choice would be a muskrat, but only if it is Hawbaker style with one of the blades being a modified wharcliffe, like the blade setup on the Case/Bose muskrat. Otherwise my second choice would be a doctor pattern.

(chances are good I will get the 2007 BFC knife no matter what it is):D

Can newbies get in on the action? If so I cast my vote for a two blade congress or muskrat. I like SunnyD's suggestion on the sheep horn.

Sent an email to Joe Hufnagel letting him know what we're up to and whether more patterns are available. A rough count of votes so far (There were a couple of double first choices, this is only pattern choices) :

Stockman with punch - 6
Ring turn - 1
Split back whittler - 9
Canittler - 4
Congress - 1
Doctor - 4
Trapper - 2
3 blade stockman - 7
Moose - 1
Wharncliff Whittler - 2
Canoe - 1
2 blade congress - 1
Hawbaker muskrat - 1

I would love to see a 3 blade stockman, 3 7/8 to 4" size. Stag, in ATS-34. By either Moore maker, Schatt & Morgan, or Canal.

13 stockmen total!! Very encouraging!!

(the stockman lobby);)

I'd like a dogleg jack whittler. With the 2 smaller blades being a pen and a sheepsfoot. 3 7/8"

Yes, a stockman would be cool...

i dont see why we dont stick with the ringers-
stockman's are a dime a dozen and everyone makes one-
canal street ringers are unique and no other company makes one -

the quality of the ringers is super-just change the handle material every year-
i wont be in on a stockman buy

i dont see why we dont stick with the ringers
Possibly because we've done that already? It's a small knife and others want something larger? Some people want two or more actual blades and not a nail tool?

I specifically got out of the last go-around because I did not want a ring turn knife at the time.

I just cought up with this thread after being occupied for a couple days. I can't begin to tell you guys how very, very, deeply touched I am that you think that much of me to grant me a knife. I feel as if I've done nothing to warrent that kind of generosity.

But I want to make a plea here for our knife cousins on the other side of the big water. Whatever you guys decide, maybe we should give some thought to make it pocketable so our British knife knut cousins can carry it with pride, and it won't be something one of Sir Robert Peels finest can give them a hastle over. Be it whatever pattern you decide on.

Again, I thank you very much for some of the sentiments you have expressed concerning myself. I feel very honored to be part of a forum of such great bunch of guys!

That sentiment is very much appreciated jackknife. How about a Small English Jack knife ala the Schatt & Morgan Premier model??

I have greatly enjoyed your posts. You have a true talent for story telling. Thank-you.

There are several designs I could go for but in all honesty it will depend on the steel. I know 420 is pretty good steel but if we are doing something special for the forum lets do D2, 1095, ATS-34, etc.., I can think of a few others as well.
