2007 Forum Knife Pattern Vote

Judy, Judy, Judy. With a statement like that, you could very well end up with a goat hair handle knife.

Not unless every single other person voted for a goat hair handle knife! I know how to count, at least. And I think a goat hair handle knife would be quite interesting.

I stick by my "however Bastid votes, I vote" statement.

As Chico Escuela would say, "Bastid been berry berry good to me."

Well I haven't read through every post but I'll throw in my 2 cents. If we are going with standard knives they all ready produce, I love their Amber bone Gunstock. Would also like to see one in winterbottom. Their stockman and whittler.

Now if we are going more custom(something I don't know if they normally produce?) or fantasy knife, I really have some idea's:

2 blade swell belly trapper.

2 blade english jack.

teardrop jack.

Single blade rancher ( Like Dan Burke design by Queen) *drool*

Harness jack.

OK, now were talking goat hair, it is.

I can provide the scale material for free. :D.

without shipping to me and in turn to those that ordered the cost of manufacture was 71.00. We estimated the end cost to be 78.00 including the knife we gave to Kevin. It was closer to 80.00 more for overseas shipping.

Hey...my tastes are pretty eclectic.

I simply like the idea of owning a knife 'democratically' designed by my fellow Forumites. I'll be 'in' no matter what...

Although the goat hair handle could take some getting used to. And maybe some explaining...

Bastid - Cheers, looks like I'm going to be in for one then....and then one in the ear from 'she-who-must-be-obeyed'!

TJ, paradoxically that might be easier to explain! Especially when you hang around with old zoomies, swabbies, jarheads, coasties, etc.

I'm happy with any knife that comes out of here, but I'd prefer either the 3 1/2" 3 Blade Whittler, or 4" 3 Blade Serpentine Stockman.

Carbon steel would be preferable.

Any handle material is fine aslong as it's classy- no synthetic materials please.

Awesome, Dude! We all know that goat hair is a natural fiber and not a synthetic, so the goat hair handle should work just fine for you.

Got that, Gus? Do you have enough goats to handle this large order? Maybe they need to bellow out to some relatives to jaunt on over.

I'll admit, a goat hair handle would definitely be a *unique* addition to the collection, but hey, if it's got a good blade and looks nice, I'd probably still buy it. :D

ok looks like time to set up a poll-
just keep in mind blade size for those english chaps that want in-

if i could i would but i have no clue how to set up a poll-just tried and failed-lol

I thought this thread was essentially a poll!? Is not Eric (ea42) counting the votes here?
Charlie TSL

i thought in a previous post bastid said we were going to do a poll and get info on new styles, blade steel and scales they are doing-

maybe im wrong -wouldnt be the first time-

Well, you could be right, too. I guess we'll wait for the leaders of the pack!!

I've just been doing a preliminary count to keep everyone up to date on how things are stacking up. I still haven't gotten an answer to my email to Canal Street, so I'll try giving thema call tomorrow regarding the questions we had with scale choice, possible shield, customizing options, possible tang stamp, less conspicuous etch,(anything else?). I'll let you know what they have to say. Lets start the poll on Tuesday evening and run it for ?.
Rosconey, Have you been in the lake effect snow nightmare that Parish and Mexico have been going through?

Eric
