Ummmm, is it too late to request Delrin scales?:o I have an allergic reaction to stag.....:D OK, sorry for that.... It must be this mornings coffee. I am really excited, this will be my first forum knife. This whole venture reminds me of being a kid, knowing what I am going to get for my birthday, and counting the days to get it!

That Stag looks awesome. If you are trying to get an idea of how many people are interested in getting one of these knives, I'm in!

Thanks Gus and Steven. That stag has my heart racing. Btw I love the democratic process that all this is done. Good job guess.

God Bless

This stag is superb.

What a fantastic knife this is going to turn out to be.

I don't own a barlow yet or a knife with stag scales, so I'm in!
I'm happy with all the other choices made in this thread as well, so now I'm just eagerly awaiting the sign up thread.

I was not an original Barlow voter, but the fact that this'll be an equal length 2 blade model definitely has me swayed.

If it wasn't clear before, I'm all for the D2, stag, hold the shield, don't care about the #s, & whatever's less expensive (Etch or stamp), but I definitely would prefer NOTHING on the blades. It wouldn't be a deal breaker, just a preference.

I am down for 1 (Wish I could afford a 2nd, but can't), but I believe I've gotten maybe 1 or 2 members onboard that wouldn't have otherwise (I hope!). I know there's a big difference between saying you're in & paying for it. FWIW, last yr was my 1st BF knife & I got in on it at the end (Just in time to pay for one), so I didn't participate in forming it, but this yr has been fun & interesting.

Again, many thanks to EVERYONE involved (Including the donator).

Once I get a chance to come up with the final cost (sometime before the weekend is over) I will start a thread for sign up, if someone signs up that will mean they are 100% committed to sending a payment to me by the end of the second week in May or contacting me (especially if they are outside of the US) to make arrangements.

For those not familiar with the routine, keep in mind the final cost of the knife will be the actual cost of production and mailing. Neither Steven nor I are out to make a profit from our friends here. Due to that we need to collect the cost up front and people need to understand that the knives will be mailed out when Queen finishes with them (I can not promise a delivery date before they make the knives. :D). and that the knives are not being sold by a business for a profit. I know the first time I did this there were a few impatient folks who did not grasp the above.

The knives will be mailed insured. I think we are looking at just below 100 bucks, but I have not had the time to guess exactly especially with the rates about to increase.

Thank you Gus, Steven and our stag angel for all the hard work in doing this for us.........;)

I look forward to the sign up thread:)

What with 170 post in this thread and my short attention span, perhaps Steven could post what the final specifications for this one are.

Final specs.

This knife is based upon the 2003 Schatt Morgan barlow pattern, that is where the tooling comes from, if someone has a pic, that will help us.

Blade: Quoted a clip point, and wharncliffe blade, equal length. They can do a spear point instead of the Clip, but my feeling is that clip point will be more popular. It will be in D-2 steel....the original quote was in 420 ss, if we go ATS-34, it will add $7.50/knife. Blade will have regular Queen stamp, no etching, if that is all right with everyone

Handle: Nickel silver bolsters AND liners, and shield(figured everyone wanted a shield, it adds $2.00 to the cost), their jigged bone is reflected in the quote....we MAY have an option for stag at the same price...we need to know if someone WILL NOT order because of the stag option. The knife will be 3 1/2" closed, smaller than what was wanted, but still a good sized knife...the other option is to get a quote on a Daddy barlow, but at 5" closed, that is HUGE, not so pocket friendly.

Bolster: Will be laser etched, with a logo to be provided by us, so if anyone has an idea, show it. STAMPING in the bolster will add $500.00 tooling charge. Speak up if you want to foot the additional cost.

We didn't talk about individual serial numbers, but that will probably add $2.00 to the cost.

Without individual serial numbers, the knife comes in at $83.00, figure $85.00 with.....shipping to us for 50-75 knives will probably run about 40.00, and then there is shipping to you all in CONUS, probably puts the knife right around $95.00+/- delivered.

Clarifications.
D2 both blades.
No serial numbers.
No shield.
Nickel silver bolsters and liners.
Stag scales (as long as they do not present a problem for Queen) otherwise bone.
No shield.

Number of knives ordered will determine bolster stamp or laser etching.
For them to make less than 100 knives we are paying a 500 buck setup fee (as I understand it, Steven will correct me if I am wrong).
If we have more than 100 knives ordered they wave the setup fee so we will just use that for the bolster stamp tooling fee.

Final cost: I think Steven is withing one or two bucks either way at 95.00 but want to take a look at the shipping cost. If I make a mistake either way I am out of pocket or have a little extra and am not going to want to be mailing back refunds. :D. Last time I did this I underestimated shipping and ran short a little. ;).

Gus,
I am in and will get you a MO as soon as you say go.

To save yourself a huge headache, you could have people mail you a self addresses flat box in a large envelope, with the MO attached.:p

Ed,

Your are awesome. That is a great suggestion that I will follow and one we should institute for the future. -:).

So do you know if this is going to have a shield or not, we've been wondering. ;):D

Seriously, this looks like a fantastic knife. I was not interested at first and did not vote, but you have my attention now.

Sounds perfect. I'm hoping we come up with over 100 orders so we can get that stamped bolster.

Ok, by now we have some really nice photoshopped renditions of what this is gonna look like.

C'mon all you graphic arts majors out there, how 'bout some nice cgi versions of what this could look like. ;):)

Here is another Photoshop FrankenBarlow.
Is this about right Gus?
