2009 BladeForums Traditional Forum Knife updates

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

That's good news, on both accounts!
Take care of yourself, and we will have something nice to kick off the new year.
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas!

Great news Gus but stay the heck in bed! Those knives can wait, definitely not worth re-tearing that tendon, they're a bitch to heal if you don't give 'em rest.

Eric

What they said. Rest up, follow doctor's orders, let that tendon mend before you load it. We can wait a little longer, even for pictures.

Thanks for all the hard work, guys. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Gus.

Great to hear they're safe & sound in your house, not so good to hear you had to struggle with getting them inside.

Having gone through surgery, again, that I'm finally recovering from...Please rest!! That week of rest might seem like forever, but is nothing if you have to suffer later for it.

Again, a big thank you to Gus & Steve, everyone that threw out the ideas & voted on this knife, & I'm happy to hear your surgery went well.

But rest, my friend, rest.

Surgery went well. Today is pain but am dealing with it.

It is a huge relief to me and I am sure to everyone that the surgery went well and you are recovering nicely at home.;)

I need you up and about for Blade in June as my personal tourguide:D

Have a fantastic Xmas and a RELAXING New year

All the best
Steven

Gus,

Take it light and have a Healthy and Happy Christmas season!

Anthony

Hey Gus, if you haven't taken the hint, I think we're all saying listen to yer friggin' doctor and stay off yer feet! Take a load off and enjoy the holidays and heal up. Don't worry about the knives until after New Year's - we'll be pestering you again soon enough.

Gus, I very glad the surgury went well! Take care of the tendon, I know you will get them out.

Roger that--Couldn't have stated it better myself!. :p :D

But really, Gus is one of the finest moderators on BladeForums.com.. He consistently works tirelessly in front of, and behind the scenes for the greater good here and we are extremely fortunate to have him.

THANK YOU KIND SIR!

Many Blessings,
Anthony

With the D2 blades in high satin finish, nickel silver liners and stamped bolsters, custom-never done before by Queen, long-pull Wharncliffe blade, and stag scales(which would add AT LEAST $30.00 to ANY knife), figure we are getting a $200.00 value knife for half that, and there will be no more of these.

Anyone who didn't get in on it who is interested in slipjoints is going to be suffering once these hit those who DID order...that pleases me greatly.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I knew this was going to be a special knife and covers a lot of first in my collection.:)

STeven, thank you for all your efforts with this project.:thumbup:

They arrived yesterday and are sitting in the entrance. Could not get that heavy box much past the front door, but they are inside and safe. I will start working on them next week. Have not unpacked them yet since I am supposed to stay in bed for another 6 days. I will try to get a few open and take some shots this weekend if all is well.

Thanks to all for all the support. I should be able to start getting them out next week. If you are non-conus and on the list I will get in touch later for those I have not arranged payment with.

Gus, no hurry here. Good to know the surgery went well, listen to the Doc and heel up.

Thanks you for all your efforts as well.

I would also like to thank whoever donated the stag for this project again. This was very fine of you whoever you are.:thumbup:

Good to hear the surgery went well. STAY OFF YOUR FEET you silly bugger, give your parts time to mend. Relax, sip a little {insert favourite beverage here} and watch some TV or something. The other stuff can wait.

Have a good xmas / new year / whatever.

Gus, get well and have a Great Holiday, you know how I feel about the knife already, I can wait.:)

Gus you stay in bed a get well we can wait till you’re up and going don’t want you getting put on the permanent disabled list, you need to be well for the 2010 knife. Happy Holiday.

Gus, I just wanted to reinforce what everyone here, including myself, has been saying. STAY OFF YOUR FEET! Your long term health is too valuable to risk over a handful (OK, boxful (OK, BIG boxful)) of knives that a hundred or so of us have been drooling over for months now. None of us could sleep well knowing you risked injury just to deliver boundless joy to so many during this blessed holiday season. IT'S NOT WORTH IT!
If, however, in spite of doctor's orders you just have to do something to save yourself from the madness of inactivity, and can't spend another second contributing to your physical, and mental atrophy. If, no matter what anyone says you will not lay still. If that's the way your going to behave regardless of what we all think is best for you? Well, then taking pictures of a few examples and posting them here does sound like a pretty good compromise.;)

Merry Christmas!

Suddenly I had a vision of Gus passed out lying on the floor covered in a pile of knives with an empty bottle of Percocet in one hand and a glass of eggnog in the other. The goat has a big smile and is sucking on a candy cane wile reading this thread.

Gus,
Keep your heating bills low, your leg up high, and your loved ones close.

Merry Christmas to you and Steven as well. Thanks for all the pro bono work on this campaign.

CJ

Just to echo everyone else :D

Take a load off and relax Gus. Ain't no one here is gonna be mad about waiting a little longer. Relax, take good care of that gimp ankle and enjoy your Christmas.
Get back to the knives when you get back to them, we'll all be fine.

And also a big Merry Christmas to all y'all.

Syn

I talked to Gus, and he's still struggling to get around, but wants to ship them himself to ensure we all get our knives, and hold the responsibility.

Let's be patient and give him a little more time to heal.
