2009 BladeForums Traditional Forum Knife updates

I talked to Gus, and he's still struggling to get around, but wants to ship them himself to ensure we all get our knives, and hold the responsibility.

Let's be patient and give him a little more time to heal.

Not a problem, just looking for an update once in a while. I have said previously for Gus to take it easy and get well. Status reports every few weeks are nice though...No Hurry.

Thanks for the update Charlie.

This is just like Gus! One of the most responsible, honorable and the greatest & finest fellows any of us will ever get to meet in our lifetimes!:)

Despite his painful injuries and obvious recovery time issues, he is still committed to the 2009 BladeForums Traditional Forum Knife shipping commitment.:thumbup:

I'm with Charlie!. I say lets let Gus heal up a bit more and ship out our knives when he is feeling a little better..

Anthony

I live close and have offered since the beginning to help ship or anything else....all Gus would have to do is point :)...offer still stands...would love to help ...get well soon!

Thanks for the update, I was wondering myself. Don't think that cdhumiston was being impatient, just wondering:thumbup::D:thumbup:

Just to make sure however, I check for ebay sellers with "goat" or "Iluvgoats" in the sellers name and verify they are not hawking familiar stag barlows at a "buy it now" price too good to pass up in order to buy goat chow.;) You just cannot be too careful nowadays. LOL.

Heal up Gus, ship our knives when you can keep some tension in that big rubber band in your leg. Prayers for you, your family and the herd.:p

Maybe he's just feeding them the stag:eek::D:D

Guys, Gus DID post an update in his "Ready to Sleep" thread a little over a week ago, but it got buried pretty fast, here it is:

Still can not put any weight on my left foot, but at least it does not flop around any more when I take the boot off to shower. Went to doc today for a check and it is doing well. He said he has 30 y.o. that have not healed as fast.

I am hoping to be able to start mailing within two weeks. I have looked at about 20 of them and there is not a bad one in the bunch. They all look good.

If it takes even longer. it doesn't much matter, goota heal first:thumbup:

Eric

I admit to glancing at this thread every day for the last week to see if there were updates :D I'll now return to twiddling my thumbs patiently.

Heal well, Gus. All else can wait.

Guys,

The knives are safe and sound. Right now and for a while longer, I am not able to carry a cup of coffee out of my kitchen and it is a full time job just trying to take care of myself. Simple things take forever to accomplish.

Have patience, I will get them out as soon as I possibly can and at the moment it is impossible.

Gus

You take whatever time you need sir.

With the D2 blades in high satin finish, nickel silver liners and stamped bolsters, custom-never done before by Queen, long-pull Wharncliffe blade, and stag scales(which would add AT LEAST $30.00 to ANY knife), figure we are getting a $200.00 value knife for half that, and there will be no more of these.

Anyone who didn't get in on it who is interested in slipjoints is going to be suffering once these hit those who DID order...that pleases me greatly.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I know I'm an extremely happy fellow.

But ... I'm in no hurry. I'd like Gus to feel no pressure. Whenever the knife comes, it will be most welcome.

No problem, Gus! Concentrate on your health and worry about the knives later. I'm eager to get my forum knife, but I understand priorites!

Thanks for the update Gus, we all agree that your recovery is Priority One! Take care of yourself and fondle the knives for us until we get them...

Hey! Don't give him any ideas! :p

I hope your recovery continues as it should, Gus. I think we're all more than happy to wait for you to pack and ship whenever you are able to without risk of reinjury.

As soon as I get the OK to start putting some weight on this thing, shipping will start.

In the meantime, thank you all for the support and good wishes. Not sure if anyone is more disgusted with the situation than I am, but I keep telling myself, it is just a knife and a more time waiting is not going to put anyone in a bind. ;)

All we want is for your health to improve. Those knives can wait. Take care of yourself,Gus. I know it must be very frustrating for you personally to not be able to walk. I know I would be going stir crazy.

I dunno, Gus! I've been waiting to cut this string off my finger!
Anybody got a knife??

Hey Gus, I have a miniature sulky here, meant to be pulled by one of the mini horses, but I'm sure a good sized goat could do a good job in it. Maybe you could get around the place in that. Who needs feet. :D

Gus, I can fly down there and help you out. It will give me a chance to get away from the Swamp Hag... er my lovely bride.
All kidding aside get well and ship when you can.
