2009 BladeForums Traditional Forum Knife updates

Just so everyone knows, when they do arrive. The mailings will be spread out over a period of a week or two. Packing up over 100 knives and getting them out is not going to happen in a day or two. :D.

I figure no ones life will be in danger if they have to way a few days anyway. ;)

Willgoy, not sure what happened but there are quite a few NONCONUS folks participating.

I personally want to give a BIG THANK YOU to both Gus and STeven,
You guys are great for doing this for us.
Thanks for the update,
Jim

I work in an industry that measures in microns with tolerences of nanometers!
0.16" that is 4064 microns!!!

Thanks for all the work and time and effort

Sure, no sweat. ;) Could you pack mine first?:D Truthfully, the waiting is the sweetest part. I often get sad when in my lean knife buying (right now) period, I think how nice it would be to have one incoming, and then I remember, I DO HAVE ONE INCOMING!!!! It has been a happy happy joy joy for me all year. I may have to deal with post pardum depression once I get it.:(:o OK, ship mine dead last.:p

Ya know there is alot of truth in what you just said. I thinking waiting for a knife is about 50% of the thrill.

And to the one that donated the stag.
Another 30-60 days is a walk in the park. A knife-less walk, but a walk none the less. :D

Um, my Parents don't live too far from you & a very good friend lives in Simi, I may have to take you up on the offer, lol.

As an aside, it amazes me the patience, time, & effort to organize one of these, plus all of the generosity. I'm not complaining, but I'll be a happy camper if the knives get shipped out before Christmas. If it's sooner, it's just extra toppings!

Thanks for the updates fellas.

"Barlow knife and a Barlow blade
Best ol' knife that ever was made."

Awesome news Steve!

Just a personal note to everyone here;

If per chance the knives aren't ready in November, or even December (there are sooo many variables involved!), it'd be great if those folks who happen to grow impatient at the drop of a hat could refrain from pulling the old "Where's my knife? You said November!!" mantra on these guys. I'm speaking from experience with many club knives, and there are always a few folks who just can't keep from being miserable about the wait. It really makes a pleasurable experience go downhill quickly into a nightmare for the folks who are organizing the whole deal, and is absolutely unfair because it's completely out of their hands.
Maybe this time will be different and the knives will be done early, plus this is a MIGHTY folksy group, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway just in case.

One other consideration, there are a LOT of knives this year, and it takes time to pack 'em all, especially when the packers have day jobs they need to be at, so don't be surprised if it takes a few weeks for all of them to be mailed out. I've seen folks (not here;)) actually show surprise when they find out there isn't an actual crew working hours on end to get all the knives out at once!

Eric

Eric is so ! Good Thoughts, pard!

If we get it for the holidays, that will be great. If we get it after the holidays, that will be great. Can't lose.

Hey Gus, I live in the metro Bastidville area, so if you want any help boxing these up, just say the word.

Just a suggestion, to avoid favouritism you should send them in alphabetical order (according the members' real names).

Regards,
Aaron Aalmonsson. :D

Guys,

Again please do not use P.M.'s regarding the forum knife.

Use my email address so I can retain the communication.
I get way to many P.M.s each day to be able to retain them beyond a week.

I usually have to flush out all my P.M.s once or twice a week to keep my space from filling up and I am not going to go looking through them to determine if I need to copy them and send them to my email address. :D.
