Here are a couple more with my only other ebony knife. It's funny, when I first got into traditional knives, I did not like any wood handled knives. However, now ebony is quickly becoming one of my favorites real fast:D.

A bit off topic folks.... is there anyways I can change the shipping addy for this knife? Who should I contacted?

I just love NS liners. Just like the old Case XX's in red

I agree, and combined with the ebony scales it gives these a very classy look. I'm not sure whether all these pics make the wait for mine better or worse.:D

The Ebony on the Forum knife looks superior to the CASE/Bose scales in my view. Another fine thing!

In answer to Gene, Christian, Steve and all who have asked, or are wondering, the total number of 2010 BF knives produced was 131.
I believe it's the largest order to date, but with many of the comments from those who missed this year's knife, I'll bet next year's order tops this one!!

Man, those are great looking knives and there was an excellent job done by everyone involved in the 2010 project. (The boxes are even cool.) I didn't order one this year and now I'm feeling a little "Duffless"! If anyone decides they need to get rid of theirs just drop me a line and I'll be all over it.

Look what I got today!

And in keeping with the traditional theme 'round here, my background for these admittedly poor photographs is a 1948 Westinghouse AM/FM radio that I'm currently in the process of restoring.

This is an absolutely fantastic knife. My only regret is that I didn't get two because I'm going to have a hard time not carrying this beauty. The pull on the blades is heavier than I expected, but they open and close with some authority and there isn't a gap to be found.

I want to give my sincere thanks to everyone involved in this project. I've been waiting for this thing since the day I placed my order and it was certainly worth the wait.

Thanks again for all the hard work put into this.

That radio will be a lot of work also!! Don't forget to include it in a knife pic when it's done!!;)

Not to derail. But this radio isn't going to be a faithful restoration. I'm going to rebuild the inside with modern electronics, so I can plug my ipod into it to listen to old radio shows, my hobby away from knives. But the dial will work with the original glass and multicolored lighting. And I was able to salvage the golden fabric grill cloth and the original speaker.

When this one is finished, I intend to do a faithful restoration on another one.

My ultimate plan is to get an old side table with a few small drawers to keep my carrying rotation of traditional knives.

Now... back to talking about this beautiful knife.

I forgot to mention how perfect the swedges are, and after oiling the joints, she's opening and closing without as much of a nail breaking pull. Still a harder pull than my other Queens, but I'm not complainin'.

Just got mine in the mail! Wow she is a beauty. These Forum knives really are something to behold. This year's is special for me as it was my only knife purchase this year. IIRC Charlie said if you're only going to buy just one than this is the one it should be...Well those words still ring true! well It was worth the sacrifice (it was hard with all the GEC threads poppin' up:D) This is truly worthy to be this years forum pick:thumbup: This is my first knife in this pattern, and come to think of it its my first wooden scaled slippie too! I'll post pics when I'm done fondling this sweetie.
Eric and Charlie my hats off to you guys!! Start to finish you guys executed it with distinction, heck you boys deserve a raise.....tell your bosses I said so:eek:

Recieved in the mail today, one BFC Traditional Forums Limited Run Moose Pattern knife with gorgeous Ebony scales.

Beautiful knife, my only complaints are burnt tip on the Clip blade, I'll sharpen that out.

Uneven final bevel on both blades, I'll sharpen them even, they're only a little off.

Super strong back springs but this is a handful of a knife so that's to be expected.

On a scale of 1-10, I'll give it a 9, great knife guys, thanks for all your hard work in gettin' this done.:D

I'll post pics tomorrow when I have more time and better light.

Hi folks -

I was delighted to find my beautiful QC BF 2010 Moose waiting for me in my mailbox when I returned home from work.

The knife is larger than I expected - a real manly handful of a traditional knife.

The Moose pattern was not my first choice, but I knew that so many of you could not be wrong, and I am glad I decided to order this beauty.

Thank you so much to everyone involved in the creation of this fine keepsake.

Here are my picture contributions to the thread -

My knife was very carefully packaged, with newspaper and bubble wrap on the outside of the box:

And more bubble wrap inside to protect the knife from sliding around inside the box:

Great fit and finish, and I was able to push-cut newspaper with the clip-point.

I'll take some proper pictures later on, but I had to post some pictures of the knife this evening since I was so excited to have gotten my hands on it!

Thanks again and best regards

Andy

Thanks for the new wallpaper Andy. Could you please include an in-hand shot.

Mine came today as well. I'd say it was worth the wait. The ebony looks fantastic and the BF stamp is very cool. It definitely has some heft to it. The blades and springs are a little thicker than I expected. Here is how thick they are compared to the single spring on a Queen Canoe (.013" difference).

My only minor gripe is that the clip blade is a bit of a nail breaker compared to the spear. I suspect that is because of the difference of the length on the pulls. It does seem to be breaking in from working it a little. Hopefully it will continue to do so. Everyone who was involved in making this happen should be proud. It is one heck of a knife.
