2010 BF knife

Here are 2 quick shots.

I got all this Ebony from a piano we burned in a bon fire, I just couldn't burn the keys or the Ivory now I see how nice it looks polished I wanna clean it all up.

Mine arrived over the weekend. Another great addition to the Traditional knife collection. Photos to follow soon.

Glad they're arriving at their proper destinations:eek::D

I can't take all the credit on the packing job, my wife Michelle has been packing and wrapping a pile of those knives, she's getting to be quite a pro! She definitely deserves an honorary memberbership in the traditional forum.:D

Even better than I had hoped. Thanks Andy!

Hi Eric -

Thank you and thank Michelle!

The first thing I did was unwrap it and show my wife, Maggie. She really thought it was a classy looking knife (her words).

Thanks again, and I'll be talking to you about your experiences with packing/shipping for next years effort.

best regards -

Got mine today. Like the others have said, it's a really nice knife. Very clean overall. The box and label are a great touch. Thanks to the organizers.

As a small but important aside, what was the blade steel again? I can't for the life of me find where it was decided. My vague recollection was D2.

Mine arrived today also. This is the only slipjoint I bought this year, and I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger on a forum knife. It is very well made, with beautifully ground blades and nice ebony scales. Unfortunately mine came with the typical Queen edge. I am still pleased with the overall product though, it's a winner all the way.

Nice one, perhaps she should get an honourary knife as well:D
The wood looks good on this knife.

If I'm not mistaken, it's 1095.

Damn, if I'd known about this one the total would have been 132..... nice looking piece that. Oh well, there's always next year!

In answer to Gene, Christian, Steve and all who have asked, or are wondering, the total number of 2010 BF knives produced was 131.
I believe it's the largest order to date, but with many of the comments from those who missed this year's knife, I'll bet next year's order tops this one!!

but the wait is gonna kill me:D hoping to gift mine to my dad for christmas...
Beautiful gift if i do say so...
thanks for all the photos

MQQN - The pictures of your knife handles look extra rich and jet black. Did you oil the wood? It really looks good.

Hi thawk -

No sir, I just unwrapped and wiped it off with a towel and then snapped some pics with the ambient light in my kitchen and a bounce flash off the ceiling.

I will have my "sunlight" bulbs out this evening and take some proper pictures.

That said, and not having seen it in sunlight, the ebony is very dark and rich with a very tight grain - in a word, wonderful!

The knife just begs to be fondled - it is smooth everywhere and just a nice knife to have.

I carried it to work with me today.

best regards -
