2010 Fishing Season PIC Thread

Tony, love the pic of the bass in the shallows that is awesome, nice mixed bag of fish right there. Fishing up north is without question different than down here. Looks like ya'll had a good trip. I'll try to keep posting some pix and keep this tread going.

Posted this in its own thread, but this is the fishing pic thread sooo..

Mixed bag is right. We also had a Smallmouth, rockbass, and white perch come up!

It was another great day of fishing with almost no wind, no clouds, and temps about 80 degrees. That same combo will make summer fisshing very tuff, but it is perfect for spring sight fishing!!

Nice pic Theedge. I wish my 14 year old would take a liking to fishing. Stupid video games.

THey (video games) are the demise of today's youth. My son loves them too...hell...so do i (kid of the 80's). But ive been taking him w/ me ever since he could walk. So, he rather likes it (doesnt have a choice :D ). My dad was the same way w/ me. It wasnt until i was about 12 that i got into it. Then my grandpa (RIP Pa) and i were on the water an average of 200 days a year. That lasted until i found a new hobby (split tail) then it dropped to around 150 days a year. THE best memory fishing i have is when i was 12 and my grandpa and i were fishing. Caught a 7lb (first decent size) and when we went to show my mom and my grandma we got an ass chewing as we were supposed to be mowing... hehe.. was worth it! Still ahve that fish on the wall at mom's house (im 34 this year) thatll learn her :D

dip, your kid will come around..they all do. He may surprise you one day and tell YOU to get your gear and get in the truck.... :)

Get this. I have a canoe and two man bass boat. Also have access to three canoes and six kayaks. He and his friends could have a wonderful time { they could care less also}.Until recently , owned a bass boat. Have a camp on Missisissippi backwater and my brother owns forty acres on a small stream that has fantastic fishing. Took my son on a float fishing trip two years ago. He caught a smallmouth on the first cast and was finished for the day.I can almost guarantee a great day of fishing. He has no interest.

Hell a decent size bass up here is 3lbs, a 7lb bass is a MONTSER up here.

I need to move back to the south.

Tony...check out that picture of my son in the other thread i started. It is of a crappie. Out of that same pond i pulled a 4lb crappie (it was lovingly named Crappiedile Dundee) 2 summers ago. I have released numerous 8lbers back in there as well. My top so far is a 10lb Lake Fork bass. I didnt mount it because i dont have a place to put it and 10lbs on Fork is still mediocre

:)

You do need to move back "home" :D your pix are awesome to say the least!

Keep at him.... You have lots of great places...wow! Im honestly surprised my son likes it as much as he does. His favorite thing to do in the world is draw...and getting him away from his drafting table takes an act of congress sometimes...

Wow that is a big Crappie!!!

My largest bass is about 8lbs, Largemouth anyway. I haven't lived in Florida since I was in the A.F., and I was born there, but raised in NY. So still consider NY as my home town, but I do love Florida!

Theedge, that is a nice bass your boy got right there and like the necker, way to start em off right. TonyM that ain't no crappie that is what you call a sacaliet, pronounce pshy k lay. That is what us uneducated bayou people call em, but that is by far the best eating fish to be found in fresh water. A box of slabs like that and whamo you gotch urself sometin right there.

Thanks MikeC! Knife is made by none other than our own John Kiedaisch of JK Handmade Knives. It made Caden's (son's name) day when I gave it to him. John is a great man. I strongly suggest supporting his craft, he is a master of it.

Thanks brother! 8lbs is NOTHING to scoff at. It took me nearly 30 years to break into the double digits. You are on the water SO much more than i, your double digit day is coming. ESPECIALLY if you get back down there to FL and catch some of them big hawgs.

Useless info coming:

My great uncle (Raymond Beck) is soley responsible for introducing the FL Strain Largemouth bass to the state of Oklahoma. I thank him every day i can for it!

I was back out on Thursday and got a bunch more Bass. I am only gonna post pics of 4lbs or larger Large mouth as I am sure you guys are tired of looking at them. Here's 1 that almost straightened out my Spinnerbait.
