First 3 pics are a 22" 5 lb largemouth i got on a plastic frog (which i mainly use). My chartreuse mouse i used to use got smashed on by a snapping turtle and it mashed the treble hook together into 3 hooks all in a row lol and it split the plastic body.

This 20 something inch 3 or so pound pickerel snapped my 7' med action graphite rod. Drag was workin but it was a strong one and all the acrobatics in the water snapped it haha.

Hi,

Man there is some nice looking fish in this thread!

I'm not much of a fisherman, and when I do go, I don't catch much.:) But I think this maybe the largest crappie I've ever caught.

caught both the 7.5 and the 9.35lb on a bream colored spinner bait with gold willow leaves in very early spring (March 27th) to be exact.. if you guys want to hunt down large bass like that, late Feb - mid to late April (where i live, NC) is the best time to do it.. its called the pre-spawn. they feed and feed and feed and feed to prepare for weeks of not eating. she was full of eggs, the 7.5lb'er i caught before her was full too.. they had bream and shad hanging out of their mouths.. gorging son! when you get into summer and late summer they drop lbs. a 7lb bass in the late summer could have easily been 8.5lbs or more during early spring.. no joke

best lures for early spring are cranks and spinner baits.. jigs too if they are getting hard to bite. i dont jig fish, no paitence.

I stopped today where a drainage tube was dumping water in the Mississippi. I thought maybe I could catch a bass or two there. Instead I caught six channel cats on a sassy shad. The biggest about seven lbs. Did not have my camera with me.:(
