2010 Fishing Season PIC Thread

I was back out on Thursday and got a bunch more Bass. I am only gonna post pics of 4lbs or larger Large mouth as I am sure you guys are tired of looking at them. Here's 1 that almost straightened out my Spinnerbait.

That is a monster Tony. Bet he was fun to bring in.

Tony, NICE. Man that is good looking fish. I don't know where your fishing but that fish looks very healthy and I don't mean just heavy. The color on that fish looks real good wherever you are you've got access to a healthy fishery. Keep em coming man, never get tired of fish pix.

I fish alot of different lakes. Most are reseviors that are accessed through a special permit. They are very strict fisheries that allow you to put a boat on it, but the boat stays there and can not be moved. There are no motors of any kind permitted either, not even electric. I actually like the rules as it keeps alot of less dedicated anglers out, and the fish are mostly all quality and healthy. This particular resevior has very clean and clear water. It is a very popular trout lake. Brown Trout of about 5lbs are very common, with Lake trout over 30lbs a possibility as well! Being a great Trout fishery keeps the pressure off the Bass. My largest LM Bass came out of that lake as well as my biggest small mouth.

My Dad's buddy at church has a son in law that recently opened a catfish farm, camp ground, slash restaurant, slash fishing lake, slash, well you get the picture. He has been after us to take Ethan and kinda check the place out. So Friday morning we loaded up and hit it for about an hour and half. Ethan caught 9 and gave one away to a little old lady next to him that had not caught anything all morning. It was cool for what it was but seeing as how we don't have catfish at the pond it was a refreshing change of pace and those cats on ultra light bream gear really had Ethan going.

Happy Memorial Day ya'll and God Bless the all of the service men/women and their families

Folks went fishing last night w/ my son. All fish caught on minnows. Feels really awesome to get to contribute to this thread after the long dry spell!

My son and his buddy went out on a Party boat out of Hampton harbor. They only traveled out less than 15 miles off shore and got into the Cod in about 235 feet of water. My son came home with about 40 pounds of Cod Filet, his buddy missed the pool by 1/2 pound and filled his cooler with almost 70 pounds of Cod filet. All they caught was Cod, no haddock, Pollock, cusk or wolf fish were that close to shore!! Next week I am headed out with them but we are going out of Gloucester, MA and going for the big ones.

My Son's biggest cod was 47 pounds, his friend's cod was 54 pounds. The pool fish was 54.50 pounds.

GingivitusKahn, nice trout and bow fishing with traditional gear, NICE. Takes a real outdoorsman to pull that off.

Wolfman, kudos to your son and his friend that was a meat haul.

Sherlockbonz, love those trout and dem G.Loomis rods are sweet.

Last but not least Zaph1, the sponge bob rig, my son is now asking for one, that is classic.

Keep the pictures coming ya'll with as many members we have on this site this thread should be booming. I'm going this weekend and will post up something, hopefully.

thought i should share a little. only had a couple hours to spare in the canoe but brought in a half dozen smallmouth. kept a couple for dinner.
first things first though, gotta catch the little ones to help ya catch the big ones!~! haha minnow trapping, then fishing for smallies.
tomorrow i'm going for lakers, i was too lazy and impatient to do it today haha. here are some pics.
average 5 dozen minnows per trap over night i'd guess.

Here's a sample of some of the stuff I've been catching this Spring, when I had my phone on me to capture it. All of it was in Ohio except the tiny yellow perch, which was NH and during the Summer.

2.5lb black crappie, gorgeous fish
