^Those are some strange looking bass.^ What kind are they?

Thats what I was thinking. The first looks like a perch bass hybrid:eek:

The bottom 2 look to be a Rockbass, but the ones up here have red eyes

King Salmon from an outing in Wisconsin this past Friday evening...forgot to put the memory card back in my camera so had to take some pics before cleaning.

Three fish total for me, 14 Lbs 8 oz, 14 lbs 4 oz & 12 lbs 8 oz. Most of it went to the smoker, packaged about 20 6 oz boned portions for the freezer!

Thanks for checking out the salmon. They are so fun to catch and, yes, very tasty too!

A couple of pics from an outing on Lake Michigan in early May. This is my fishing buddy "The Bass Assassin" as I call him. A super friend, rabid fisherman and quite possibly the world's worst photographer (I caught a few too but, trust me, the pics are not going in the scrapbook).

And another beauty....

Brook trout.

yep thats a brookie.. speckled trout are salt water trout.. can be found off the NC coast as well..

the brookies are the only trout (freshwater) that are native to NC. the others came from england or the west. (browns from england/europe, rainbows from the west.)

in that pic he is a chunky one. more than likely a stocker. if you want the true gem of NC's trout you need to head up the hill and off trails to catch the (much harder to catch) natural brookies.. beautiful fish indeed:thumbup:

Those are some awesome smallies!! I love fishing smallies!

Smallies are one of my favorites too. Hard fighters that just don't ever give up!

thats no joke! has to be my favorite fish to catch.. i have to travel a good distance to have a shot at them. the waters around here just get too hot in the summer for them.

We have some good opportunities for them here in Illinois, both lakes and rivers. My Brother in laws
family owns a resort on Lake George in upstate NY, awesome smallie fishing there as well. They are
a very different fight than their bigmouth cousins for sure. If you ever find yourself in either place, drop
me a "line" :)

Well, since we are talking smallies, here is my 7 year old son's smallie he caught last summer. 20 inches.

Then here is his 30 inch walleye, caught the same week as the smallie above. Both are on his wall! Dad didn't give him any help with either one, he is quite the fisherman.
