2010 spy photos! Slight Delay :-(

I am now caught up, thanks Ashley. I am extremely excited about this knife. Like Mack, I feel a kid at Christmas.

Any new scuttlebutt?

The test assemblies did not go well. The old dies for the backsprings were making an imperfect edge, causing slight gaps at the backsprings, so all the backsprings are being remade. An approximate two week delay!:(
The knife I sent to them as an example, actually had a slight gap, from that old equipment!
Queen is very sensitive to our discerning eyes, so I expect a good final result. Production knives are never perfect, but these should be darn good.
With any luck we will get them before the month is out.

I'm sure the vast majority here will heartily approve of Queen's attention to this important detail.

Thanks again for your work on this as well!

Thanks for the update, I am trying to be patient and not start a thread where I post "is it here yet" every five minutes.

Two weeks is not bad. After all, I've been waiting this ever since forum knife 2010 was decided :D

Charlie,
I have just re-read this again,
Eric, Mike, Gene ... yourself are putting so much work, and man...i just cannot wait to see the final result!!
Where was I when the ordering was happening?....

It's very good they've decided to refit the springs, delay is always better than dismay :D

I think they might have been using the same machines on a QCCC Jack I had to return to a supplier last week, the gaps through liners and spring were shocking:grumpy:

We will sell no wine........ before it is time........

Orson Welles.......Paul Masson wine and spirits......

I can wait for the knife.....:o

No! I can't!

Ok, I can wait.:p

Thank for the photos! It's fun to see how a knife comes together. If you can, a few shots of the interior of the shop itself would be great fun to look at too.

and at least from the art departments perspective, i had it easy with all that went into pulling this off:thumbup: If you had told me three years ago that i would be able to participate in something like this i'd have said you were crazy...
Cant say enough about Charlie, Eric and Mike! (and BFC!)
Pleasure to work with ya!
cheers
gene

PS and its my first knife purchase in a year or so! and its a gift for my dad so this one is extra special!

Gene, do you have the artwork for us to see what the box will look like? I thought I saw it somewhere but I can't find it. If you want to keep it under wraps for the surprise affect thats cool too.The box is a big part of the knife as a whole.

I borrowed this from the original thread, looks good don't it:

Thanks for the "teaser" Gene! Here's another; a test assembly with some hafting, of the final knife.
A bit out of focus, but the best I could do from up in the rafters!
