I'm warming to this one but can anybody say how approx how long the bottle opener/cap-lifter will be? Will it be short as shown or long full length as in the original line drawings?

Thanks, W

I don't have an exact length, but it will be short/long enough so as to not protrude into the easy open notch. It's say it will mimic the original line drawing.

PayPal sent for three knives. Thanks to Chris, Campbell, Andy, and everyone else who's helped set this up:thumbup: Now for the long wait....

Hi folks -

Don't forget to tell your friends - I have a couple of friends that like slip-joints, but are not into online forums.

I'll have at least one or two on my 2011 knife order for these friends who are not on the forums.

Remember your friends who may not be as obsessive as we are (and I mean that in the best way.... :foot: )

best regards -

We had a nice rush for the first week, now as y'all get your tax return money, make sure you buy a 2011 Forum knife! We are running til May 27th.

Order in!

I am very much looking forward to this one. I often select my Vic Soldier to carry (to bbqs, nightlife, etc) over other preferred slipjoints simply for the knife/cap lifter combo. That combo in a beauty of a package from GEC will be my constant companion. Can't wait to drop it in my pocket.

Thanks for putting this together, guys.:thumbup:

I'm in for 2:D
Will there be a list of folks who have ordered for conformation, like in years passed?

Dave

MO on the way for 2. This is going to be a sweet one!

Got my order in earlier today! Really looking foreword to this years forum knife, and it will actually be my first forum knife yet!

How is the count going?? Anyone keeping track??

Last count I think we were between 60-65 a couple days ago. It would be GREAT if people could get their orders in...I know we have more interest than that. When we put up the voting thread with the poll, we had over 180 responses...100 of which were votes for the cap lifter. I asked that people only vote in that poll if they planned on buying a 2011 knife. I know that there were some responses that said they voted, but were still wavering on that particular pattern. Regardless, I would hope that of those 180 votes, at least 75% took my request to heart and plan on buying a knife this year. When we were working with GEC, we gave them a rough count of of the total orders we expected, and that count was in large part based on the number of responses to poll in my previous thread. So get your orders in guys!!!!!!

Could a thread be made sticky and closed in general knife forum maybe? there are likely A LOT of people that like a good slipjoint but never post in here.

I'll be ordering between 2 and 4 on the 15th, waiting for decisions from guys at work and I want to buy as many as I can find owners for. I'm sure there will be a good few people in the same boat that are making use of the next couple weeks to find money/justify the knife.

Good idea.

I can't believe that all of those people who were involved in the discussions who offered opinions on this years knife, have just decided against buying one. I think it's most probably that they don't realize that order time has arrived. Perhaps a sticky or notice (like the one which informs us that the Kershaw forum is back) would help to spread the word.

Maybe we should have tiered pricing-- after a certain date they cost $10 more. Just thinking out loud.

+1

I think I speak for most when I say we didn't know when it was going to time to order until the thread was posted a week ago. In just a week I expect only the "everyday" regulars of the Traditional forum would know about it until word spread.

As for me, I have the money for my order rat-holed and could send a money order today, but I think you said you would prefer PayPal so I am waiting to unload some stuff and restock the PayPal account (my knife habit has to support my knife habit). If that doesn't work I will send a money order the week of the 18th.

Also, there are too many stickies in tradtional (for me anyway) and I rarely pay attention to them. I am probably not alone in that either.

I've asked Elliot and Gus about a sticky in the General thread and hope to hear back from them soon

We will try and post a list of all that have ordered a knife so far just so you can confirm that we have received your order
