I can't conceive of much that wouldn't be accomplished with a wharncliffe main and a small spey in around the 3 3/4 range. I don't have a knife in this configuration, but I would jump on an opportunity to own one.
Hope I didn't ruffle any feathers with this desire.

oh hi guys hows it going?...hey wait a sec ... what're you looking at me like that for ?(not a kiwi joke. sorry duncan)

I suggest a trapper or swayback pattern. But I am in for several whatever it turns out to be. :)
Thanks to those that are making it happen...........

I know I already posted one pattern, but if we could Case to re-make us one of these it would even be better.

Well, I have thought long and hard about this.
This is such a difficult thing to narrow down ONE particular pattern that we want...because when you actually go through photos of knives and re-acquaint yourself with all the stunning older patterns out there!!!....WHEW...it is really hard!

Everytime Charlie puts up something...there is always a wave of fellow knife enthusiasts who agree with his notions, and there is good reason, Charlie has a LOT of knowledge, and knows what is and what isnt...
Our Blade forum knive would have to follow real Traditional lines... thats what we are - Traditional.

I have narrowed it down to 3 patterns,
1, Charlies Large Stockman, BUT!!!....it would HAVE to have to same shaped blades as to that lovely knife Charlie has graced our vision with-man...just how does this man manage to get his hands on these stunning, beautiful knives? with the large Swedges - otherwise no thank you.

2, Jake ( supratentorial) has featured lately a two bladed Sowbelly, now if we can get a slim, single-springed version....bring it on.
3, Muskrat, now if we did this, it would have to be peach seed jigged bone, Threaded Bolsters, an Improved version of the Muskrat, and with heavy Swedges running off the top of the blades!

You give me too much credit, Duncan - - - -but - - -if the choice was from the three you suggest, it would be a hard-fought battle! Every one of them is a desirable knife!! I like your order of choice also, and I'd be happy with any of those!!

Ha!...Meako Sir...its the Aussies who are famed for winking at the sheep my friend...and they have tried their darndest to put that Rap on us Kiwis!! :D

Thank you Charlie, credit given where credit is deserved....Honestly, a spear point like your GEC's would be just perfect, but I didnt think that would happen as we have that with our 2011 knife...and I think they are a gorgeous blade.

This years knife is going to be an exciting one, as I hope the Traditional knife "resurge" that is happening leads us to a historical effort to better the last years knife. so i think we are to end up with a very, very nice knife!

Woah! If we can get Case to remake a 6231 1/2 then I am in, and in a big way. This is my favorite Case pattern ever.

^^^that is an awesome knife, i have a single blade custom on order that looks an awful lot like that one, and the maker said it was modeled after an old case jack knife - I wonder if that's it, though mine is going to be a shadow pattern or a barehead, I'm not sure quite yet..

^^^If we could get Case to remake ANYTHING the way that they used to, that would be my pick as well.

My formal choice is still a Peanut.

I don't think they would/could make it as well, but they might be able to make it look like the old ones.
If not Case, maybe GEC would entertain a 3.5" version of their #25 Northfield Jack, it would be essentially the same thing.

Except if it comes from GEC the cutting performance will be better, especially if we were to choose 440C as the blade steel.

I keep thinking that a large, maybe 5 inch, toothpick would be nice. Something with a really sleek, beautifully swedged blade...

You know...the more I think about it, I could definitely go for a Congress Jack like the one pictured on page 3 by Ryuichi

I'll add my vote for FLymon's 6231-1/2 but only if it could be pulled off as well as the XX I've carried as my EDC for many years. Pure perfection.

I'd vote for a peanut or sway back. What about a peanut with a wharncliffe main?
