2012 Forum Knife by GEC - Who's Got Em? POST YOUR PICTURES!!

Just got the power back on a few hours ago, I'll take some pics in the mornin' after some much needed sleep. :)

Put it to some use last night by preparing Chorizos, onions and stuff for an omlett

It works nice in the kitchen, onions made it start the patina, the warnie is a great blade to peel the dries skin of spring leeks

Got mine as well, my first GEC and very impressed with the fit and finish. Unfortunately someone forgot to sharpen my wharncliff blade :/ I can push my thumb into it without it cutting

I hope both of mine came in unsharpened, first thing I do to every knife I own (including customs) is rebevel to my desired angle...everyones knives are looking great and I love seeing the patina people are already getting on their blades.

My wharncliff was the same way, and didn't seem to have a grind at all. Oddly enough it sharpened up much better than the clip. Overall, it is an absolutely beautiful and well constructed knife, if a little big for my personal preferences. The size is growing on me though. It feels very - serious.

Did some carving with it a few days ago. Just the finish work on this ugly spoon, most of the grunt work was done with a gouge, chisels, and saw.

Looking forward to gutting or skinning a deer or two with it very soon.

Very cool! Looks like you put it to good use.

Same... this will get a 20 and a 17 perhaps... or maybe a 15 on the clip. We'll see...

Here's a few quick ones, shoulda wiped it down first, got saw dust from cuttin' up trees with the chainsaw after Sandy blew through.

Got this 2 hours before the power went out Monday night, it's been in my pocket ever since, I really like it, F&F are great, sharpness was ehh but overall I really like it and see it bein' an EDC favorite, albeit a back pocket knife but part of my EDC none the less.

These knives have some very interesting features! The pull and fit are first class. Blades are centered, and nicely ground (read that as thin!!). Perfect formula for a super-slicer!
Mine came so-so sharp, but that's easy to correct. I have a T.Bose wharncliffe trapper, that sort of served as a model for this knife, and which I carry quite often!
It has given me the idea to try this knife as a user, so that's what I'm going to do!

Mine arrived un-sharpened as well. Haven't had time to sharpen it up yet though.

I noticed that the covers on mine look just like pistonandgears' knife. I can't take a picture of mine right now so I will borrow his for now.
I have noticed this on several pictures.

Which one is "correct"?
Is one "correct"?

I have one scale that looks like this (jigged sort of all in a row):

and the other like this (offset):

I decided to use mine to carve a marshmallow roaster for the kids last weekend and haven't put it down since. There really is something special about this year's knife. I've been using the wharn for food chores and the clip blade for general purpose. I couldn't be happier with this knife and fear I've been bitten by the Traditional bug.

At work today getting ready to snack on an apple. I can't wait to go camping and put this to more work. :)

I think that bottom set of jigs is slightly smaller than the top. If they are going simultaneously, there will be points where they line up a bit, and then become offset as the process continues.

I get what your saying, but one of these two shouldn't be possible under that scenario. One is offset evenly bolster to tail, the other goes from basically zero offset to almost full offset in the length of one scale.
I don't really like either one more than the other, just curious what it is supposed to look like.

Mine's got kind of a honeycomb look to it and in the pic you show my shot shows the color much lighter than it is, the color on mine is a little lighter than Guyon's knife, (I shot the first shot I could after the clouds cleared from the hurricane and it was a little over exposed).

Both scales are pretty uniform in that they match each other fairly well.

So far on a scale of 1-10 in regards to whether I got my moneys worth? I'd give it a 10, I had to sharpen the blades but I always do on modern,(anything after the 60s) production knives.

I really like this knife and it has to compete with the 2008 and 2009 forum knives for EDC space in my pockets. :)
