2012 HTM Forum Gunhammer: *Commitment/Sign-up* thread

For those of you who are wondering where your knife is... make sure you're not one of the unlucky folks who ordered a Bowie blade. Only the torpedo blades are shipping now.
 
How long is my Gunhammer going to sit on the table though:(? I was hoping to test the s90v on a camping trip I'm going on but I don't think that's going to happen afterall. I need some more s90v in my life:D
 
Man, this knife was worth the wait. The more I carry it and use it, the more I love it. Only thing it's really missing to be the perfect knife for me is the bolt-action lock (hint, hint, Darrel)...
 
Nice to hear the positive comments as I wait. I hope someone will have the HRC tested and offer up some hard use testing results.

I plan to put this baby to immediate use, maybe I can do a comparison with an s90v Para2:thumbup: as long as it isn't super thick behind the edge that is:)

Looking forward to it -- please do post up your results/impressions! Darrel, from working with the steel and doing some tests of individual blades, said that these definitely ran toward the hard side of the 60-62 HRC range that they were shooting for.

I wonder what Brad @ Peter's Heat Treating would put the HRC at? Would be nice to hear that info.
 
I bet if you were to call he would tell you:D. If Peter's did it I'm sure the target HRC was achieved, it would be nice to know what the full process was, if there was a cryo soak, if so how long etc..?

Well you know, it just so happens I have spoken with Brad several times about various things in the past. I was kinda hoping someone already has since they were finished and would come along and comment officially about the blade treatment as well as discuss cryro etc. The blade steel selection and target hardness were a pretty big point of consideration going into this.

If we don't find out by the time my Gunhammer arrives I'll call and find out:thumbup: I'm sure Darrel probably knows the HT lowdown:D
 
If my Gunhammer ever arrive's:( Anybody get an shipping email yet? I paid up a few weeks ago, maybe it's still on the table waiting for a # and sharpening:D

No word hear either. I paid my other 50% last week and was told a number was all that needed to be done prior to completion

Anyone else think these look like something for the Green Lantern??

The green is growing on me, what is not growing on me is the lack of a official update on the Bowie blade situation. Darrel or Neuron PLEASE take a moment to inform us of their situation and anything else that would be relevant.

I think a $15k order warrants a little more in the way of updates.
