2012 HTM Forum Gunhammer: *Commitment/Sign-up* thread

One-third to one-half of the cost up front sounds good. Like you guys said, it's a good way to show support/thanks to Darrel for taking on this project and will make things easy on him by providing a disincentive against people backing out.

I can't afford the bump to $360....

But life's too short. I have participated through the process, can't wuss out now!

I kept thinking I want 22. I look and it's the last slot. I'll take that as a sign. I'm in.

#22 with glidemaxx torpedo gamble green! I second the 50% deposit as a strong show of faith for Darrell together the ball rolling.
Just added you to the list in spot #22.

I've added open spots numbered 26-30 in case anyone else wants to get in. Better hurry, though! ;)

Neuron,
As keeper of the master list, after much consideration here is my blade-opening request.
Serial Number -4
Assisted Opening- Bowie. Thanks. Also updated my original " I'm in post".
Best....

Whooaa, I could probably do like half at the mostest. Then I gots to save...

More now is less later to me. Besides, it's "extra" from the return of a crappy Bradley Alias 1 I purchased that was in "new" junk condition. Lol

I agree that more now is less later, and I like it that way.
I'd probably do 2/3 now then 1/3 later, but I know a lot of users are budgeting and saving and planning for this knife so the 2/3 may be a lot to ask right now.

Maybe neuron could open a new poll to allow everyone to vote for 1/3 down payment or 1/2 down payment?

Yeah this is kinda where I am.

I always read do not give any maker any down payment. I never have before but I trust Neuron and his project here!

Oh no no, I wasn't saying everyone do so. It's just what I'm going to do. I say a minimum should be required, and if you can send more, great!

:) man I'm so anxious! I'm canceling my preorder for the M390 tomorrow morning!

S90v is better than M390 anyway... I think lol

These are knifetime (I tell jokes) warranty correct?

Well if the torpedo is better, those who buy the torpedo can suck it! Worse is better in this case, bowie folders are few and far between it seems. Wait, DDR copied SOG on the bowie bladed folders right?

I really like both blade shapes, but the bowie is just special to me I guess. I feel that us knife folk are born with a gene that tells us Bowie knives are beautiful, and this is no exception. And the Bowie will be even better if they, sadly, quit making them but who knows if that's true.

I just think the bowie fits the knife very well. I mean going on looks alone, how unique is a Gunhammer? I would say extremely different than most everything else. Aluminum scales machined with a sweet grip, a Ti lock bar, unique Gunhammer flipper, S90V in this one, and a bearing pivot. Not to mention a nice choil and a wide, fat blade. This knife deserves a recurve Bowie I think. It's a fitting blade shape for a unique knife. Honestly, I look at the GH's with the same esteem as a Sebenza or a Hinderer XM. These are all perfect designs from the mind's of geniuses. Don't even get me started on custom Gunhammer's, those are dreams forged into steel, carbon fiber, and titanium.

That is the standard for the most part. One exception, and this is one, is a down payment for special materials aka S90V. I will also add that this is a trusted, reputable Commercial company unlike a random single employee maker aka the one's who usually screw people over.

The review of the M390 version from Knifecenter has convinced me that this is worth doing. Neuron, can you please sign me up for #29? And if anyone wants to sell one of their black un-assisted M390 versions please let me know.

This brand is basically unknown to me and this will be my first HTM! I'm very excited!

Please make mine the:
- Torpedo plain edge
- Maxx Glide UN-assisted

Honestly, I am just gonna send full payment up front. That way I don't have to worry about spending it when time comes to pay the rest.

Thanks, guys. I just added all three of you to the list in the order that you signed up.

And with that, we're officially at 25 commitments (counting me)!

im super stoked on this one glad i got on list first ddr is gona be a good one

Yeah, I really think this knife is going to be something special and I have no doubt that DDR will give us an extra special knife since we are paying a very dear amount of money better than the standard S30V Gunhammer.

Wait, if the S30V knife is great, my math tells me that our S90V knife is 3x better. Nice, for less than double the price we are getting a GH that's 3x better. That's a steal in my book.

Rich kid!

No, I may do this also, or at least 2/3rds. I have zero reservations about giving HTM/DDR any cash up front. I just don't see Darrel ripping anyone off. If he does though, we will just go after Hark and take his bedazzled custom Gunhammer to the auction block. I am only kidding, Craigslist is much easier.

Hark, I have always been curious. How do you know Darrel and the HTM gang? Do you work there? Also, what's it like to have a not very wordy conversation with the man himself? Does he speak in riddles and answer questions with questions? You give me the impression that he is kind of a lone wolf, likes to do things himself kinda guy who is wise beyond his years.
