Ivory micarta, sheepsfoot main and secondary pen would be my choice... no spey please.

No spey please.

Sheepsfoot main with a pen secondary sounds good.

No opinion on the micarta color, but I think it would be better if it were fine grained reinforcement as opposed to coarse. (linen or paper as opposed to canvas)

rattin frattin double post.

I'd like to see NS liners and plain bolsters. I agree with Frank about the micarta. Canvas just doesn't seem right for this pattern.

If the knife is made by GEC, I still think the Coffee House acrylic is worth consideration. It's not too wild compared to some of the others they have used and it will still have more depth than micarta. Here are a couple of pics taken from the GEC Acrylics thread. (not mine)

nce we've picked a congress could we have all different blades?
Since it's a Congress Jack there's only two blades. I'm pretty sure they'll be different.

I've taken one of mine and tried to approximate the color of a Westinghouse Ivory micarta off one of my Ken Erickson knives to get a good approximation of what a CJ would look like. Notice that even with plain bolsters it's pretty attractive.

As for covers, I would like to see an antique Ivory micarta or butterscotch as first choice, maroon micarta or something similar as a distant second. No real preference on the bolsters though squared would look better with the style this seems to be shaping up to. Either no shield or a federal shield for me. Considering these should be full length blades (on one anyway) I think the swedge would be a good choice as well.

I like the idea of the stainless liners and pins.

Took the words right out of my mouth!

That looks really good, eisman!

I'm starting to get really excited about this year's forum knife especially after reading everyone's ideas and suggestions posted here. This is gonna be great!

I think if a shield is going to be used it should sort of curve to the shape of the cover and it should be perfectly centered. Maybe an interesting way to go would be a shield that says BladeForums but done just like the Northfield shield on the #62 Easy Pocket Courthouse Whittler pictured in the photo below...

This'll be my first annual & will get which ever is decided on,but...
I would like to see antique ivory linen micarta over any other man made material.(it does age really nice)
If plastic make it jigged to at least look like bone.
Blades that don't protrude too far above the covers....a wharncliff main with a small clipped secondary or a long clipped main with a coping secondary.
Match strike nicks or long pulls on the same side.Swedges are always nice.
If the bolsters are to be squared then filed would be nice.If round then pinched.
NS bolsters.
Brass liners.
Any type of shield but a plain bar.Burnside's idea^,or an arrow head would be nice.(love an arrow head)

Thanks for listening & all the effort you guys are putting into this,I'm looking forward to my first BF annual in what ever flavor.

I would like long sheepsfoot/lambs foot with long pull and swedge, as long as possible and closed length as close to 4" as possible. I use my knives for food prep and often cut grapefruit/breads and other larger foods. My GEC Executive Whittler is a slim 4" folder that is very unobtrusive.
Secondary I would live a Spey, second would be a clip- why make it like everything else that has a pen blade. If pen is chosen I hope it is one with ample belly.
Half stops please, or at least one of each and I agree with the idea of a wraparound spring.

Ivory paper micarta would work best, although the coffee house is intriguing as I'm a sucker for red!
I am not that familiar with shields, but think a simple bar might work best with a ivory coloured handle.
Here is a shot I took of a few of my shields so people can get a visual, although I do not have a bar shield (yet another reason to be my choice- is there a bent bar shield?), but I do like the more stylish north field one above could be interesting (without the wording)

I am a big fan of work done on bolsters and think this design would look great with some fine work such as in the stag handled pruner below as the lines are fine and in a pattern that is not common yet classy to me:

A shadow may also help costs to allow more options, and if micarta is chosen it would be strong enough to allow only a single bolster, plus bolster treatment would help set off the single bolster. I hope that if a square bolster is chosen that it can be pinched or fairly rounded.

Other than that, I don't have many opinions other than I have to get one now!!

Despite it not being my first choice, I've always thought Eisman's Congress Jack looked impressive. For me, the deciding factor will probably be the size as I don't need to own yet another knife I'm not allowed to legally carry here. So I'll see what you gentlemen decide :)

Scales: Antique Ivory
Blades: Wharncliff main with swedge, long pull. Coping secondary. Main blade behind secondary.
Bolsters: Round, threaded
Liners: Brass
Shield: Curved fancy bar, unmarked
Please try for sunk joints. Classy.

I like the idea of a long pull on the blades but only if sheepsfoot and pen. but I have no preference between sheepsfoot and wharncliff.
No real preference on the swedge or covers.

I really like the idea of a "Blade Forums" Bar Or maby a "BF 2013" but if not something like this something thin/long (smiler to the knife) or no shield.

From the pics I have been seeing so far I like the square bolsters (but rounded edges so still pocket friendly) and love the Idea of the wraparound spring.

What's a wrap around spring?

Jack Black, how long a knife can you have?

I didn't think about the arrowhead shield..... I kinda like it!

I've always called it an extended spring. Here's an example on a SBJ. It helps keep lint and other pocket clutter from settling or wedging into the liner of the shorter blade.

I like them myself.

I've found that congress patterns usually burn a hole through my pocket faster than any other pattern - something like GEC's "easy pocket" series would be very nice...especially with a lambsfoot main to keep it svelte...and no bolsters! :D

Sheep foot main, pen secondary, nice swedges on both blades, square pinched bolsters, aged ivory micarta scales and extended spring, bar shield. Not bigger than 3 5/8" closed. That would be my choice. Thanks for this year team for the hard work.
Mike

Exactly what I would like to see also.

My wish list:
-wraparound spring (pleeease)
-bar shield
-square bolsters
-long pull
-pen in front of main
-rattail grooves

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of for now ;)

What Sturzi said!
Plus swedges too, I've always liked cut swedges but drawn are OK too.
