Sheep foot main, pen secondary, nice swedges on both blades, square pinched bolsters, aged ivory micarta scales and extended spring, bar shield. Not bigger than 3 5/8" closed. That would be my choice. Thanks for this year team for the hard work.

Exactly what I would like to see also.

You Guys are reading my mind:thumbup:

Since it's a Congress Jack there's only two blades. I'm pretty sure they'll be different.

I've taken one of mine and tried to approximate the color of a Westinghouse Ivory micarta off one of my Ken Erickson knives to get a good approximation of what a CJ would look like. Notice that even with plain bolsters it's pretty attractive.

That is sweet lookin, I n have an Eqaul End Jack but Camillus made the 50s with a white linen(?) Micarta that looks so sweet, I'll hafta take a pic and post I it here.

I won this sweet Camillus Equal End Jack from one of our members here,(silenthunterstudios) on BFC it has a very deep looks to be linen Micarta,I've cleaned it up and will post better pics but these are the pics from the giveaway silenthunterstudios hosted, (BTW, this is one of my favorite jacks, thanks) just to give ya an idea this is from the 50s and Micarta was a traditional covering back then.

I wanted to add, if I was going to make a stand for a couple of options it would be full length master blade, threaded/treated bolsters and wraparound spring. Even though it appears pen will be secondary, I feel it would be worth looking at second options (clip or Spey). As far as steel choice, I hope D2 will still be considered as it is a carbon, but otherwise would love to see O1 used (52100 or W2/M2etc would be nice but I don't think many companies use it). 1095 has been used enough for a while in my opinion.

I am hoping that the company/companies that will (hopefully) work with us give a couple of options toward the final product that are within our range.

Doesn't everybody love the hurry up and dream phase.

How about no shield and plain, squared bolsters as my 3 5/8" Fight'n Rooster Congress Jack has w/MOP covers and carbon steel blades.

Silver shields don't show up that well on light/white covers. However, if dark covers are selected, a long bar shield would look nice. Further, squared bolster are more in keeping with the Congress pattern. Yes, I know some Congress knives have been made with rounded bolsters but they look odd at best.

I have no preference as to the color of the covers for the 2013 BF knife but I gotta say white/ivory micarta covers sound pretty nice.

Sounds about right to me :D. I am not real keen on "plastic" handles, but I suppose it is time we had them. ;)

I love O1 steel, and the way it seems to form patina almost by the power of suggestion.

However, due to that very factor (including all the colors that can erupt within said O1 patina), I don't believe it matches well aesthetically with the "finesse" of the congress jack and its appointments (as currently projected through these discussions and preferences).

My wish list:
-wraparound spring (pleeease)
-bar shield
-square bolsters
-long pull
-pen in front of main
-rattail grooves

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of for now ;)

Yes...with Ivory Micarta handles!

Sounds like a lot folks are already in agreement. I'd like to echo the matchstrike long pull I heard above.

This is sounding pretty darn good so far (even though no 440C;)). Ivory micarta, D2 (or any other nice non-1095 steel), squared bolsters, sheepsfoot main, pen secondary (and I like the idea of secondary in front of the main), beyond that I'll be happy with whatever pulls and shields and springs, etc. that y'all decide.

3-5/8, Ivory micarta, long curved shield (no writing on the shield! PLEASE!!) sheepsfoot and pen, Nickel silver liner and
bolsters, square bolsters, long pull on main and nail nick on secondary. Old school way... Pen in front! extended backspring. Belt finish
on blades and hardware. (can't see scratches that well with this finish)

Half stop is a must
Ivory micarta
No shield or at least something simple like a bar
Sheepsfoot main pen secondary
Stainless bolster and liners
Around 3 3/4 would be perfect:thumbup:

Yes...count me in......although I would prefer a Wharnie main blade. either way I'm there.
