Does anyone have a picture of a knife with ivory micarta? How does ivory micarta hold up to use in dirty conditions? Does it stain? Just curious. I voted bone but a synthetic material might be nice.

It would be dependent on the type of Micarta used, i.e. canvas, linen or paper. Micarta in itself does not stain easily, however I believe you are mostly asking about how easily it will pick up dirt. For what we want here, I think the paper micarta will be our best choice as it will be very smooth to the touch.

My vote goes for synthetic. I think some butterscotch or ivory micarta would suit the Congress frame very well. Even GEC's Coffee House acrylic would be nice if they end up making the knives. From the pictures I've seen it doesn't look as wild as many of the other types.


Ebony or Rosewood would be great also if the wood category makes a late push.

I don't really consider micarta a traditional material. If it has to be synthetic then something as close to celluloid as possible

Voted synthetic - I think micarta would look really good on a Congress frame.

I voted for wood, ebony for preference. Dark bone would also be nice. To some extent it depends on the chosen pattern though doesn't it, the choosing of which is more important to me than the covers, and the same with most posters I guess?

I´d like to see Congress (Knife or Jack) with nice wood scales - preferable ebony

That would look great on that pattern.

Queen has a really good supply of black black ebony
