2013 BladeForums Traditional Forum Knife Pre-Order thread

Just placed my order. I really regretted not getting the 2011 knife with the bottle opener, and hesitated for too long last year as well. Won't make the same mistake again!

I would suggest that the maximum blade length be changed from 3" or less. I would like to see a longer, more usable main blade.

I wouldn't mind the longer blade, but the design has been spec'ed out. There is a lot you can do with a 3" blade.

had some unexpected expenses come up this month - as soon as the OT check shows up I'll be ordering one.

The design is now fixed in place after an entire set of polls voted on by the forum to define exactly what the knife would be this year. It is what it is. It is NOT going to be changed.

Take your complaints to Burger King. They are not welcome in this thread.

I'm hoping to wait and see in production pics so I can get a better feel for the dimensions and scale color etc.. before I order (or not). I may not be able to do that if they might sell out before final assembly starts.
37 or so days ago 83 had been ordered, only 3 days after the link to pay was opened.

Does the fact that no one, not the people helping with this years knife or the mods or anyone "in the know" with GEC, has posted any update since the 23rd of May mean Spark has been completely out of touch on this for over a month?
I have to believe he has been asked, no?

Kevin ordered 300 knives this year. GEC requires 50% down to start production. As has been stated in the past, when Kevin gets that 50% (meaning 150 preorders), he will submit for production. GEC is working on the tooling now, and will pretty much be ready to start as soon as Kevin pays.

Kevin is a little hard to get a hold of sometimes, but I'll email him for a count to see how close we are.

Earlier in this thread Spark stated that he'd prompt production at his originally stated 125, even with a production run of 300:
Pertinux - I've bumped it to 300, but we'll be good at 125 pre orders

It looks like we need to put this money toward a 2012 remake so something gets moving. This one isn't very popular it seems.
